Bought on ebay, from a small dealer as VF

I'm thinkin' it's more than a little better than that. The field around those stars almost look clean enough to be a proof.

What do you think?

Nice coin! How much did you give for that one?

I gave 30 dollars for it, which included free shipping.

I only look at buy it now listings. I never look at auctions. I won't invest myself emotionally in a coin for a week just to see somebody beat me by 25 cents.

There have been some pretty good deals come up lately. I watch for non dealers primarily ... just somebody selling a few of grand dad's coins, but sometimes hobbiest dealers will undergrade something pretty badly. This coin goes from 18 dollars in VF20 to 150 in EF40, up to 300 at MS60

Reality, or at least the law of probability, would suggest it's likely not a proof at all, given that they only minted 70 of them. More likely it's just a monster business strike. Can't wait to get this one.
