No idea, sorry. You may already know this: 1937 was when Tito became Secretary General of the (then underground) communist party, the SKJ (League of Communists of Yugoslavia). So the larger medal, with the motto "Proletarians of all countries, unite" apparently commemorates his 40th anniversary as SKJ leader.
The smaller one was issued for the 11th congress of the SKJ, it seems, which was in 1978. As for the material they are made from, well, if any of them has a small three-digit figure such as 835 or 925 (or something like that), it would be a silver coin with that silver content. But they may well be Cu-Ni medals ...

I never seen these plaques before. The image of Tito on both looks like on coin 200 dinars from 1977. There are many Yugoslav plaques and they usually have been given to workers when they retire. I have several silver ones with different display on them and they basically worth their silver value. Are you sure that yours are gold ?

If it is gold then these medals/plaques have been given to significant party members during commemoration. I have searched all auction and similar sites for these and found nothing. Although the fact that these coins where made in gold indicates small issue of few thousand pieces maybe less than that. Next question is, are these medals collectable. In former Yu countries everything with Tito is very collectable, but collectors from Yu are not usually paying much for this kind of stuff. If these were coins they would worth much more. Funny thing, a few months ago I meet guy from China in Belgrade coin show, and he was buying everything with Titos image. If I find something more about these medals I'll post it here. Right now I cant tell how much they worth but at least you have gold value if they are proof even more ( I cant see from the pic but they usually made medals, especially gold ones, proof. But I can see that they are out of their original box)

My father ,a Slovenian immigrant ,visited his homeland in the 70s and bought 4 of the smaller commemorative medallions for us kids, why? we not communists but he respected Tito to the upmost as did MOST of the former country. They are 900 fine gold ,approx. 22 karat and weighs 4.01gms .Value? spot value of gold plus a collector value since they seem to be quite rare.I can't find any other info myself, specifically a price. If anyone knows, please post.Tanx
