I just got this one in. It is in rare company as the pop report from PCGS has a little over 12400 1880 P coins graded of them there are 88 MS-66's NO 67's and NO 68's with 2 66 PL's and only 1 DMPL. This is a Vam-50a and is a very early post clashed coin and has what I think is a micron N clash off the neck and can you can also see the wreath micron clash by the fore head. I think It will find it's way to Leroy. One thing is sure this micron clash is short lived as the 2 coins posted on Vamworld are PCGS MS-66's as well and do not have the micron clash from what I can see. Here are 2 photos of the clash close up. It is on it's way to Leroy as well as 5 other coins of the same VAM in different die states.

I do not think if this gets listed as lets say a Vam-50b it will be worth much if any premium. As the only way one would find it is if you find a Very Early Die state of the Vam-50a and in very high grade. If you can find a good and true MS-66 as this one is they start at 3,000. The population is this 88 including resubmissions at PCGS an 33 total at NGC bring the total to 121 total coins at this grade. I think a est. of re-submissions and crack outs would fall around 10% of the total, so call it 109 total really out there.
This one is one of the nicest ones I have found, and I have seen many at MS-66 that where not anywhere as nice as this one.

I got the coin back from Leroy yesterday, I am not seeing things. The Vam-50a is now revised with the micro N clash away from the neck. Alan told me in a post over you know where to look for the phantom E clash, I never even looked for one until that post. It looks much like the 1880p VAM 33a E clash but the rotation is just a little different. This one looks like it's going back to Leroy again. I posted a few photos up on V W but I was beat yesterday later tonight I will try to post better photos here as well as on that post.

By your last photo it looks to have been micro double clashed as well , of the wing clash at the neck by about a half degree..I think Alan's thought of phantom, is due to that its just on the verge of being SEEN, but the impression is there but not the full arc of the N tick..there for questionable as its not definetly pronounced...My 1886P NVA is exactly that it's got the N but the dies so erroded they won't let it into the club..WHAAAAAA....Still an awe sum coin....G let's see if you get the gold with an "E"
