A few days ago when the chill of Fall was persuading me against leaving the house I decided to organize my father's collection of Newfoundland Halves, as this is the most substantial and impressive component of his coin holdings.
The list is as elegant as I could make it being so long out of practice with Excel. I've indicated the quantity of each year including a breakdown of the grades. None of these coins have been professionally graded so I had to go on the handwritten indications from the dealers. For many years you will see one or more coins listed as "TBD". This means that some of the coins were not marked and will have to be examined when I have the time.
My father was pleased to learn he has 19 1888s. That year holds significance not only as the birth year of his grandfather but as the year with the smallest mintage of which he would like to own 1/10 of 1% - an achievement which is one coin away. I believe my favorite to be the 1876 in VF. Enjoy.
PS:
I realize this is not the easiest chart to read; the format on my spreadsheet was not quite preserved in my post.
