Doesn't much matter what the actual mintage date of the coin is. If it doesn't show on the coin, it's a no-date and is worth $1-$3 depending on its condition.

You could weigh it and at least be able to see if it is a Lincoln or a Zincoln.

Actually a good look at the design on both sides would get me within three years of its production in most cases, and in some cases I can round it down to the exact year...without the date.

A Lincoln (pre-1982, made of 95% copper) should weigh at 3.1 grams.
A Zincoln (post-1982, made of copper plated zinc) should weigh at 2.5 grams.

Basically what I was saying before is that it doesn't matter when the coin was made, if it has no date all of them are equal. A couple of bucks. No need to weigh it, no need to bother whether it's zinc or brass, they'd be worth the same thing either way.

Very true, but if it were my coin, I would at least try to determine the composition. I haven't quite looked at enough Lincolns to be able to tell what year it was minted with any real certainty, so by weighing, it would at least let you know a little closer to when it was minted.
