Very nice! My local shop was selling the 2011s for a bit more than the rest of the eagles. I just bought a 1996 for $35, since that's my birth year. Apparently that's not such a bad date!

Congrats! Lil Silver. I just went today to buy a 1996 for $34 but it had too much toning on it. $35 is a good price because all the other dealers I go to call it a "key" date and sell it for more. Not sure why. I did pick up a 1995 for $34. The year 1995 has significance to me, not a born year, the year I graduated High School..lol

Not sure why. 96 has the slightly lower mintage, but I don't like the thought of paying more for bullion because it has numismatic value. Quote: I did pick up a 1995 for $34. You just can't go wrong with ASEs. Gorgeous coins and always easy to sell. Yes, you pay a premium but you also get one if/when selling. With the price of silver now, I am picking up all the ASEs I can afford. Rock on!
Nice pickup.

Do you collect the " Burnished Uncirc." and the " Proof" ASE's as well as the bullion ones ? The "bullion" ASE's aren't typically the "collector" ones, but certainly more affordable. But I think these would make a nice Set though.

Eaglefoot: I stayed away from building collections of Bullion for a while. Last year I came across a good mix of ASEs and decided to start a one-per-date collection of regular UNC ASEs. 2011 is just continuing that set.

Yes they do... 1996 is considered the "Key" in the series because of its low mintage. $35.00 a piece is a steal for a 96, check out the prices on any online PM dealer and you will see substantially more being charged for the 1996 ASE. Even ebay sellers know this and sell accordingly, of course I wouldn't buy bullion off of ebay but have seen the offerings.

Nice ASE! I managed to get 6 proof ASE's at a great price on Friday. I got a 91 92 93 94 97 2000 all for $45 each except the 94 which was $60, but considering all the other dealers I use wanted $60 for the common dates and a lot more for the low mintage dates I think I got a great deal. He has more and I am seeing if I can swing another $200-300 to pick up the rest while silver is low...geez who would have thought that $31oz was LOW? lol
