Eisenhower Dollar Checklist Accuracy

I originally wanted the Kennedy to end in 2011, where my Dansco set ends*.

But no, they had to keep going, which I am now okay with, considering what they have done for the 50th.


* Note - My Kennedy half dollars are in two separate four page albums (1964~1991, 1992~2011), soon to be a third (on the to-do list). I am glad I opted to add an album, rather than replace the original binder to go beyond four pages, considering how heavy that beast would be! That being said, they need to call it quits after 2031. Seriously.

The Kennedy set is awesome. It took me about a year to complete. I have some to upgrade, but it is nice none the less. Dont limit yourself. Do the complete set. Its worth it, believe me.

As for the Ike Dansco, I too use the last holes for the 72 varieties. Once I find a type 2 that isn't outrageously priced or find one myself. Been debating on putting the commem in there or waiting for his Pres dollar and mqking a spacer to put it in.

You most definitely have to have the proof Kennedy half dollars. No need to get them all at one time, though.

I have that one as part of the 5-Star Generals Profiles Collection that I bought last year.

For those concerned, it was also sold separately (available in proof as well), so do not worry about having to buy a set to break apart.

Yes, most definitely the standard large dollar size and it will fit the Dansco just fine.

I'm currently working on P&D Kennedy halves. About halfway there now, mostly from circulation. I've been using 2x2's in binder pages, and I'm thinking I may just keep them that way instead of going the Dansco route; the Dansco misses the hole for the Bicentennial 40% BU half, and I just can't leave that one out. Curiously, the non-proof Ike Dansco does include the hole for the 40% Bicentennial dollar.

Maybe I'll just buy the Dansco's for the full set with proofs, and hope that someday my pockets are deep enough to go beyond the P&D halves.

Now that I've just finished my Dansco album for the Eisenhower dollars I thought that I was finished with the album and had all the Ikes that I needed. But after reading this thread I've come to the conclusion that I have many more holes to fill for coins that are not represented by any appropriate hole.

I've bought the Ike book and am also searching my duplicate stash in hopes of finding some of the VAM's, but the '71d (?) type three sure sounds like it is going to be troublesome coin to find. But come to think of it there is three empty slots in my album. So I have hope yet.

To think that I just completed the album though and now find that I should be looking for more coins is very perplexing, amusing, and frustrating all at the same time.

But on the topic of Jefferson nickels, I find that I have a delimna to solve for myself of rather plural problems. but this one if the subject of a different thread. Trying to keep this on track.

Nickles: Sure would like to accommodate you but I currently have a couple of technological problems that I have to surmount.

1: don't know how to post pictures (which is probably very easy once I solve difficulty #2.

2: Don't have a camera which should probably have been listed as #1. Not sure of what type of camera I should purchase.

3: Because I haven't had a camera in so long, I don't know how good my skills will be. That can be sharpened through practice.
