it looks like its had a light cleaning before but,its has a pretty natural look, most Seated halves have been cleaned at one time or another even the ones that has been slabbed. I think you should buy what appeals to you,it shouldnt matter if its been cleaned or not, sometimes you can get a good deal when something is slabbed cleaned as long as it is attractive and not polished or harshly cleaned.

I meant the black stuff on the barber, the silver Three Cent was just an impulsive purchase : P I didn't have one yet. Do you own some Seated halves?

if your not too picky you can put a very impressive set together it may take years though a very hard set to do.seated halves have always fascinated me.wow a 1793 cent, thats a fantasy piece for me.

The 3 cent silver coins are really neat but I think that you could have gotten more bang for your buck with a nice problem free example that would cost $20-$30 at a reputable retail shop. Believe me I bought I lot of problem coins at auctions and ebay before I knew better a few years back.

Yeah, shoulda just went with a regular 3 cent, wasnt thinking, haha.
The problem is, JP, that I'm really picky haha.I'm going for a xf-au seated lib half date set. But first I'm thinking I should fill types. I dont have a nice merc, ihc, bust half, gold eagles, etc. So I'm thinking I should fill types before I specialize.

even an average xf - au date set of Seated halves would cost a lot 1839- 1842 will be a challenge,1850-1853,1866,are all challenges 1878-1891 will be near impossible unless you have a lot of money.i know the feeling of being picky because I am too.i learned to be better at going for what attracts me then what a slab says because it can save money on a lot of stuff or also make it expensive, haha. as far as type I'm not even doing any gold,it would be impossible with my income.as far as type it can be really fun and you get an example of almost every type, besides the rare stuff like that 1793 you want.

I was watching that 1793 Wreath Cent. This morning, it was $1,200. It has very nice detail. Too bad about the corrosion.
