Face value of $3 for 1/4 ounce of silver would be nice. PM content value is $6. Can't go wrong there, I know that would be the "steal of a deal sale price". But this is a proof coin - with mirror fields, frosted legends and coloured map of Canada, with flag superimposed, an original RCM design with a good chance to sell out. Can't underestimate Canadians' patriotism, and marketing of the 50th Anniversary of the Flag and 150 series as we approach 2017. The coin is good for giftware and for numismatic value by collectors. The price makes this coin affordable for most, which enhances it's marketability. It is an eye catching $30 investment. I see it maybe as a coin that may attract a new coin enthusiast, like the 20 for 20 series did for me a few years ago. Just checked the Mint website and it is awaiting stock on-line and available at the boutique in Ottawa only. Only 15,000 total, sure to sell out, glad I got one.

I like the look of this coin. I just got an email yesterday that mine had been shipped. I ordered mine from Canada post thanks to a tip on this board.

Anybody know what's happening with this coin? Is the RCM going to start shipping this coin anytime soon? or did the right arm put the coin someplace where the left arm can't find...

Maybe the plan is to get this coin for the 51st anniversary of the flag or 150th birthday of Canada.

Mine says new order and I ordered it early in the release also. They're releasing so many coins that they don't have time to ship them all.

Quote: They're releasing so many coins that they don't have time to ship them all. To be fair, the RCM has gotten much better with their shipping timelines. For this coin, it's only been 12 days since March 20th - the first day orders could be shipped. I'm sure a little patience will be rewarded soon!

For what it's worth, I ordered one from Canada Post's website (with free shipping) and received it last Thursday.
My wife and I like it very much!

The Mint is definitely better at shipping in 2015 than they were in 2012 but the frustration comes from ordering directly from the Mint and then having to wait, while those who buy from dealers (including CP have their coins already). I doubt CP commissioned this one (or any coin for that matter). They almost always receive the coins before those of us who order from the Mint. Saw a story on the news yesterday that reminded me where the inspiration for the coin might have come from.
