Jefferson Error, Worth Grading? - Coin Community Forum

gundawg89 Valued Member United States 71 Posts	Posted 12/29/2010 10:01 pm I have a 1944-P Jefferson nickel with a clipped planchet error. Do you think it would be worth it to have this coin graded? If so, which company would you recommend? Also have a modern Roosevelt dime that is off-centered. The edge is not reeded in the 10-11 o'clock region. Same questions regarding this coin. I cannot really tell what is going on with the dime, a picture of rim would be helpful, but it is perfectly centered as far as I can tell. Your description sounds like a tilted partial collar strike which results in incomplete reeding, probably worth about $5 as well. Neither coin is worth getting slabbed, your fees would be many multiples of the coin values. Report this Post to the Staff

at4user New Member United States 35 Posts	Posted 12/30/2010 02:14 am I have a 1960 Lincoln that has a more drastic clipped planchet and in pretty nice condition (~AU-55).
