Do I just go up to a dealer and ask if they want me to make a food run for them?

No, the last ANA I missed would have cost me $3000 in legal fees.

Quote: Do I just go up to a dealer and ask if they want me to make a food run for them? I'm sure the coordinator will give you instructions. Most halls are either concrete floors, or tile over concrete. Wear comfy walking shoes, and get a pair of shoe cushions at Dollar Tree. If you're running the booth, get some carpet samples to stand on.

I just received a reply from Nelrak, who has the Perpetual Set in his possession. He will be sending it back to me to be displayed (with the signed card from all of the recipients) at the show! A printout of the mileage that the set has traveled will also be part of the display. Since this set has been circulating almost since the beginning of CCF, I thought this would be a great way for more people to see it. Also, members could get their picture taken with it at the show.

Susanlynn9, you mentioned earlier staying at the Marriott. Could you give me that address. Sometimes there are two Marriotts in a large city. I want to look up what it would cost. Also, is Philly on an Amtrac route? Thank you.
Never mind. I found the info. The Marriott at the Airport is half the cost as the downtown one. And forget Amtrac we would have to go to Chicago plus a long trip,

Hello,
I personally know that efficiently reviewing every single CCF topic once I log in is an impossible feat. The end result is that I end up missing important details.
Even the topics with a burning fire preceding them go unnoticed at times because of various reasons.
Events like the one discussed here in this blog, however, deserve a special type of treatment in terms of relaying an important message to all CCF members.
The face-to-face meeting of any two individuals is an experience to treasure for a lifetime, especially the brothers and sisters of such a prestigious organization like the CCF...
Once all of the arrangements have been agreed to and paid for does CCF have a sort of broadcast summary email service that would send out to 'all' CCF members a ‘short and concise' description of the key talking points such as time, location, cost, accommodations suggestions, directions, schedule of related events, and the general themes of the event etc.?
As this summer approaches and more members inevitably join CCF very few people would find it productive to read through a possible 20 page long blog, for example, that includes the initial outdated comments that more than likely have no pertinence any longer etc.
If I were a new member (or any member for that matter) and a kind of a bottom line guy like myself, receiving this type of reminder email every three weeks initializing three months before the show's opening date would be more than helpful as an aid to save time, a precious commodity in today's multitasking world.
Although a banner on the main CCF home page would also help increase the turnout for the event, receiving a descriptive email reminder to a smart phone does not require logging into CCF and most likely will get opened up by the recipients 99% of the time...
In summary, after the initial email's half page summary of the key points an additional descriptive URL(s) could follow further down in the same email for the members that prefer to delve into the subtopics in greater detail just by clicking on the URL(s) etc.
Just a thought.

Bpoc - I hope that you will still be able to come, even though Amtrac is not an option. The downtown Marriott has special rates for ANA members for the event - $199 per night. There is another hotel also that is $188 per night. All of the info for the show can be found here with the links down the right side for hotel, event schedule, and other info. The reason we chose the downtown Marriott is that it is the host hotel and, since I know that these are going to be long days for me, I wanted the convenience of being in the same hotel. Mdpmedia - I think a member-wide email is a great idea. I will need to check with Bobby to see if it is feasible to send 17,000+ emails. In any case, we will definitely be able to have a banner up that can be visible with or without logging in to the site. On a side note, it just boggles my mind that we are planning an event of this scope when I remember starting this site and thinking about how slim the chances were of it succeeding. Relatively speaking, very few new websites survive the first six months and even fewer the first year. It's hard to imagine that CCF not only just had it's seventh anniversary, but is still adhering to the original family-friendly, educational vision that inspired its creation. Truly, it's just amazing to me that we are enjoying such a great measure of success that we are getting ready to set up at a corner booth in the largest coin show on the east coast. I just can't wait to meet all of you - the people who have made CCF such a resounding success!

Great video Bobby! I was in charge of pages at the Denver 1995 show, as the YN Coordinator, it was so much work keeping track of all the kids at a busy show, I didn't get to look at any coins for myself. I took all the pages out afterwards to the local amusement park for a fun evening of roller coasters and eats. Many of the pages are dealers kids that are old pros, they do this at lots of big shows, but many come to the ANA show from the local area it's good work experience and yes they can make some good money too! The video must have been shot really early on, as the Denver show was so crowded you could hardly walk down an aisle with out dodging a hundred people per row, from open to close and I never saw the food lines that empty either! My pages all worked hard and everyone of them made some money and had some free time to participate in the YN activities the ANA convention offers. The world mint passport project was a big hit. I suggest it to all YN's if they can, do it, sign up at the ANA site - be a YN Page!
