I got a $5 bill from change today and the series number is HAB0000208

My question is: is it worth to keep it or should I spend it?

it's not in great condition.

It is considered a "Low Numbered Note" (any note under 1,000)

Personally, I would keep it.

Ummm sadly, it doesn't seem that special to me ... HAB0000007 might be a different story (or maybe a radar HAB8020208)

... and although your note has a fairly low serial number, I don't think it is quite unique enough to be considered valuable (especially if it's not in awesome condition)

=> Hey, but that's merely my opinion.

EDIT => for the record, I would take the advice from a guy named Canadian Banknotes before I took the advice from a dude named stevex6

The note is not worth much over face even in Uncirculated condition ($18) I would just keep it, for the sake of having it. It could start your banknote collection, you never know.

I think you should keep it. In a couple of years when you see it again and don't like it, then you have some money to trade it on some gold or silver. Enjoy it now because they will not be making it again.

My first question to you, have you ever received another bill with this low a number or a lower number? If not, maybe you should hang onto it until another bill with a lower number appears. I don't have anything remotely close to this.

1). If it was a nice crisp flat note, keep it. It won't cost you any more than five dollars to do so, and 2). you can still spend it if you want to.

If you go down the first track it will only cost you the inflation rate over the period you kept it for. Currently, that works out at less than 20 cents per year for the hiring out $5 worth liability against the Canadian Treasury.

Condition? Thumbs down. I wouldn't bother. Save your 20 cents per annum,
