Quote: but I am also getting interested in post cards. Can't explain why. I have a decent collection of post cards. I started getting them for the stamps back when I collected, but ended up keeping them intact. You just do not see post cards much these days.

Quote: Pokemon cards I gave away all of my Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards to my little brother when I lost interest. He has no interest in collecting them either and so he sells them at his school's charity bazaar every year. There's still a pile of them left. I don't know if you've got arcade games where it gives you one card when you play, and there is a series of cards you can collect. I used to play one here called Dino Duel (I'm not even sure if the machines are still in use now), and I've got a couple of rare ones. There's a more recent one called Animal Kaiser and my brother's got several card albums filled. Since these use barcodes you can just borrow someone else's then do a black-and-white photocopy of them (unlike the magnetic stripe used in Dino Duel, which is more difficult and expensive to copy but somehow there are still fakes around). I know it's cheating but you can buy useable fake cards just about anywhere for a fraction of the cost and everyone uses them anyway.

I used to collect hot wheels. Some of my hotwheels are worth hundreds of dollars in coin money but my parents won't let me sell.

I really like the wood planers you have aardspeed! I have a few oldies myself along with a couple of manual hand drills and obsolete tape measures. I really love the old wood working tools.

I collect old tools as well. Have levels, squares, have quite an extensive collection of fruit jars, etc. Here is a picture of my Stanley hand planes.

My collections are all over the place. I have an arcade, remote control cars, lighters, and watches. None of them are cheap though.

One50 and Harmonica, you mentioned Japan and occupied Japan in your posts, so here are my only two Occupied Japan items. Got these from my grand dad years ago.

DO you know what they are jprine? Is the bottom guy a tooth pick holder?
I should snap some pics of my Occupied Japan harmonicas someday here soon. They are only diatonic but you can get quite a few traditional Cape Breton fiddle tunes out of them if you treat them right.

I think the first one is an ash tray, a cigarette fits perfectly in the bottom lip. The second may be a toothpick holder, not sure.

Besides coins, I have a tiny collection of paper currency. However, I have an interest in wind-up phonographs. I see that many of us collect guns. Does anyone have an explanation for this? I also notice a lot of snake collectors early in the thread. Personally, I prefer not to collect animals, as they require maintenance, don't hold value like coins and stop working after a few years.
