Thank you sooooo much, Sap!! Those two are my favorites so far, and it's been fun trying to figure them out. Is there a website where you got this information from, or are you just that good? ;)

Mary- The vials should be fine for those coins. You may want to put the nicer Morgans and Peace dollars in some 2x2. Nice hoard

Mary, This is a really nice set of coins. Glad you shared. If I was you, I would definetly get new holders for these coins since they are in fact valuable. Also, take pictures of the whole collection as a whole, not just individual. You will want to remember which coins were your grandmothers and which ones you may purchase later for yourself. Thats what I did with the coins my grandmother gave me. I really like those Carson City silver dollars. They are very nice. That 1914 D Wheat penny looks pretty good too. Wish I had one of those in my set. Thanks for coming here and showing us your coins, Ty

Mary, Just as a warning for what can happen to a person, my 84 year old Mother gave me her collection three years ago. It was in her garage in my Grandfather's old leather briefcase. In this collection were all the old Whitman coin folders that my bother and sister and I had as children. In addition there were 7 GSA Carson City Morgans, around ten other Morgans and Peace dollars all in mint condition, several older mint and proof sets, and lots more. Since that time I have spent thousands buying old coins off ebay and from other auction sites, as well as my local dealer. I have learned a great deal about grading and have read every thing I can get my hands on, plus I have learned from this forum. So in closing, be careful. This coin collecting thing can get under your skin. Colin

LOL- Lots of people on various boards have been warning me that this stuff is as addictive as crack! My husband and kids keep saying "Which ones are we going to sell?". I throw something at them every time. ;)
I just posted pics of Vials 11-20. Found some more of the Morgan's that people seem to be interested in. I also posted more pics of that 1881 Uncirculated CC Morgan. Coin count is over 500 so far and I still have a lot to go!

Hello maryhm, welcome to our forum and as you have already seen, there is a lot of help for you here... I must congratulate you on the coin presentation and the amount of information you noted with each of the photo's for a beginner, great job. When our members are able to see clear, detailed photos, you will get a lot of good information and hopefully, like a couple of others have mentioned, maybe you will become a collector and join us.. Good Luck with your collection, it's a great start.

Maryhm, your collection is I am still learning how to grade coins so I can't help you in that aspect. Since I came across your post I look foward to seeing additions and WOW! they are a treasure. I love seeing them. May I suggest, once you receive the Id's of your coins you should include the names on your web page this way when someone asks, you will know which they are refering to. For example: you have (1904-O One Dollar- Case says ChBU 63/60) Change to: 1904-O Morgan dollar --Case says ChBU 63/60. BTW Welcome ! This is the place to be, Friendly and Helpful.

Mila- The problem is that I know nothing about coins, so unless someone tells me what it is, I have no idea. The more people who chime in here, I'll definitely add their comments!
Just added pics for Vials 21-35. I thought I had the last of the vials, and then I found a box with about another 20 vials in it. This is a ton of work!

Mary, What city do you live in? Maybe the moderators could find you a trusted member to help you identify your coins? Just a thought, Ty

Posted pics of vials #36-#54 (name has been changed to tubes as I was told this is the hobby term). Everything that is currently posted is now in the safe deposit box, but if you want a better picture of something let me know and I can get it to you in a couple of days.
Tykimeister- That's not a bad idea.
Mila- AWESOME information!! Thank you so much!! I'll update the info shortly.

Mary, your collection's photos are marvelous! Keep 'em coming! We're all enjoying them very much. And we're all probably just a little green from envy. I'm bumping up your site's address to this page since we've gone into the second page, will probably go into a third very soon. http://www.monshaugenfamily.com/coins.htm

Did you say everything pictured now is in a safe deposit box? Are you sure you didn't mean to say "vault"!!!! I can't believe it all fit into one box. I haven't checked out your updated pictures until this morning, and I must say, you have quite the collection. I am a relatively new collector myself, and I have the feeling what you have could very well be equal to someone that's been collecting for a few years already. Not only in monetary value, but in beauty. In my opinion, unless you need a new roof on your house, I would carefully catalog these coins, have them graded by the folks here or at a respected local dealer/collector, and put them right back in their storage. These will only go up in value, whether it be in rarity or the pure value of today's silver.
