Just ordered 10 rolls of halves. Same kinda ratio as last time - I got 33 40%, with 5 more amazing 1965's that look 66-67, a couple of 66-67 bicentennials, 71's, and 72's, and (drum roll please)... my very first circulated proof! It was the clad 1976-s - still looks like a PF62 or 63 - it was a heckuva day, let me tell you.

It looks like your doing good madman. I have not hunted any rolls in a while due to the large lot of foreign coins I bought that I am still sorting through. BenVA

Well, today I went to my bank, and they actually had 6 rolls in stock. The teller brings them out, and they are all wrapped up in home made rolls out of construction paper. I am thinking "Whoa, I bet these are gonna be silver" and... they weren't I did get one 40%, but hey, that's better than nothing, right?
I have another change order for $100 in halves coming in Friday - keeping my fingers crossed...

went thought 6 rolls of half dollar last two day. cleaned out two different bank braches I go to one close to work the other close to home. so I guess I am going to have to go to the one in the middle.lol, I can't take them to my primary bank because that is were I return all my rolls after looking at them to make sure I don't get the same ones. I get my roll from a Framers and Merchants bank and return them to a Bank of america. that works best for me.

The only thing I got out of the roll was a 1986-D that I need for my set. no silver or 40%
the other bad thing is the bank closest to my house is all out of Pres.Dollar and probaly will not get more tell the next pres. and the one close to work cut me off since I got my 2 roll limit per costumer accully they gave me a total of 5 rolls but who is counting right.
My plan was to cash in the last 3 half dollar rolls and get a pres roll to put away. but need to go check out a couple other banks. if not I no my local dealer has Denver mint rolls for sell. he is selling Denver mint rolls for 26 dollar so 1 dollar over might be worth saving my Gas.

Banks around Chicago, specifically, LaSalle bank does not accept rolled coins. About a year ago I carefully counted and wrapped about $300.00 worth of coins that I had sorted through and was going to deposit them into an account for my grandson, the bank had me tear all coins loose, place them in a container, and they proceeded to count them via their machine. Oh, well, I was trying to be helpful. They actually said I had $300.11 in coins. I did not argue, just deposited the money to my grandson's account. Moral of the stroy, no deed goes un-punished.

I had just started doing rolls with the Washington dollars; I figured that it would be a nice Saturday morning thing since I am up hours before everyone else and don't want to make much noise.

Nice topic.

I just switched from Jefferson nickels to Half Dollars. Last week I found a 1964 Silver and a 1967. I got 5 rolls of halves from the bank today. I found a 40% silver in the first roll and when I opened the 3rd roll I was surprised to find a 1951 Franklin half.

It looks like your doing good jtomlin. I have been going through half dollar rolls myself when I can find them. I think the chance of finding a good coin is better with the half dollar rolls. Keep it up, BenVA

So, in those 10 rolls I ordered, I got 25 silvers, or 12.5%, which was not quite as high as last time, which was 16.5%. Still good though. Got 2 more really nice 65's and a real good 67.
It's funny though - I have never found a single 90% half - I am up to 128 40%'s, and still no 90's. It is definatly on my list be it a kennedy , franklin , or to be really lucky and get a Walker or even a barber - that'd be awesome.

I just spent this past weekend going through some 2000 Lincoln cents, with poor results. All I found were a 1936 Canadian cent in VF, a 1968 Canadian cent in a nice PL MS-65 or so, and two lousy wheat cents - a 1943-D and a 1946-S.
