Question: I have 880 dollars in searched halves to dump. Should I take them to a seperate branch or a seperate bank to dump.
I mean, I only belong to one bank, so I would have to get a friend of mine to dump the halves at their bank. And even if I go to a different branch, it would be in a different city about 20 miles away from my main bank where I ordered the halves. I don't know if I plan to order anymore anytime soon and if I do, is they're really a risk of running over my same halves again if I order a FED box.
Anybody get what I'm saying.

Go to a different bank. Different branches share coin among themselves. Next time you order halves, your bank could end up calling one of their other branches and getting those same halves back for you.
Some banks don't actually check to see if you have an account with them. They allow you to change coin for cash without asking for an account number. However, this is usually just a temporary fix. If you intend to search coins often, it may be worth putting the minimum amount into an account at another bank.

i had a huge find on half-dollars... ended up getting a bunch of customer rolls (they even wrote their phone numbers on them... local exchange). Out of $200 in halves, I got 34 40% silver, 3 1964, and 2 Franklins. I immediately went back and bought all the other customer-rolled coins they had on hand, but that was it... Still, one heck of a nice pickup. That was last week, and I've already set up a couple deals to turn them into various lady Liberty silver, which is far more to my liking :)

Oh yeah, silver dimes and quarters are no joke. They've effectively been declared out of circulation since.........'71 I think? The only way you find them now is if they're accidently placed into circulation, like grandma using some old pocket change she found. That sort of thing. But you may get lucky every once in awhile. I've pulled one silver quarter and one silver Mercury dime out of circulation. My brother and my mother each have found one silver rossievelt themselves and given them to me.

Finished my nickel box. It was better than most. The first 10 or so rolls I pulled out each had one or two coins from the 40's or 50's. The best find was a 1940S that still had some original luster left.
I've got the box all sorted by year so if anyone needs certain dates, there's a topic on the trade about it.

I called around to a few banks to see if they had any halves. All of the major banks don't carry them at all. One little bank with only one branch had $280 in halves. I had my gf stop by today to pick them up for me. She only got me $200.
She called me at work and told me that they were all handrolled and the 4 or 5 rolls she picked up had the years written on them. She noticed most of them had dates on them into the 1980s. I was bummed.
When I got home we started going through the rolls -- just in case. After the 7th roll of "1971s" and "1976s" we hit paydirt. One roll that didn't have a date etched on it was full of 40%ers. The next roll and the next after that. One had 3 90%ers and a Franklin.
All tallied, I got 48 40%ers and 4 90ers including the Bennie. My best hunt yet.
Needless to say, my gf is off tomorrow to pick up the other $80 in halves for me!
I can only imagine the little old man who handrolled the halves himself. I'd like to thank him! :0)

I also CRH pennies. I pick up a box of $25 every couple weeks. I started about a month ago. My first box which contained $6.77 worth of copper had little in the way of Wheaties. I like to seperate them just for kicks. I might start a collection.
The box I picked up this past Friday had about $8.00 of pre-1982 pennies. Each and every roll had at least 1 Wheatie. Some had 4 or 5. The oldest was from 1923. Nothing unusual key date wise.
Has anyone else come upon so many Wheaties in a box of $25? I didn't think that they were that common.

dam! that's a hell of a catch! a few weeks ago I got 5 rolls from my usual bank and they were labeled 71-73 but the last two said "Kennedy new no silver" it was a great score one whole roll 1968 and $6.50 of the next 67-69! search every roll people miss label. as for the pennies, I dont get boxes I just pick them up if they are there. where yours fed or customer coins?

Nice find on the halves.
The pennies I get are Fed. Seems the only bank that has them onhand around here in Wachovia. I go through a box in about 3 hours. My job is boring so I bring rolls in to go through to make the day go by quicker. This week I'm getting 4 boxes of pennies.
Anyone else CRH pennies?

I just finished a box of cents a few days ago. I found about 8 or so wheaties (all from the 40s and 50s) and I think 6 Canadian.
