I am planning on traveling to your beautiful land just to buy rolls and rolls and maybe more rolls from every stop we make, as it is very hard to get quality and variety coins over here on the dark side. regards

In the coin return tray at a coin counting machine at my bank, the coins were jammed when the teller guy opened it up, so he just gave me the coins. They were a 90% (my first!) and two 1969 40%'s. And a 1988 french 10 centimes piece, and a 'penny' from some unknown origin.

Tonight I got a 1909 VBD Wheat cent from a customer who paid for a CD with exact change. I would grade it at least ef. It's not worn anywhere and has lots of shine. Has anyone else found a penny like this in great condition as well? In the past two months or so at work, I've found two wheat pennies, a 1923 Buffalo, and a 1964 silver dime.

Searched 10 rolls of cents and here's what I found: 1928, 1951 D, 1943, and a red 1959. I also found a 1961 and 1982 D Large Date Zinc Cent, 2 coin I was missing in my collection. Now, I only need, a 1973 S and 1982 Small Date Zinc Cent. I also found 3 Canadian Cents, and a 1974 S. I bought 20 rolls so I still have 10 rolls to search.

I took the 1909 cent I found to the coin shop today. He said it was possibly au, but probably ef, red-brown, and worth about $14. There was a co-worker who thought it was silly to look through all the change. He's not laughing anymore.

Texas -- I have had many a co-worker think I'm weird for searching through change and bills while at work. But in the end, I pass boring time at work and also have the chance to find something really cool and possibly valuable.

Just ordered 2 boxes of Kennedy half dollars from my bank. That's 1600 coins. Will post my finds when I'm done searching.

Someday I'll buy a box of halves... but for now I just get a couple rolls at a time. Most of the tellers at my bank regret looking for even one roll. Sometimes they just say they don't have any. Maybe I should find another bank. How do you guys handle tellers like mine?

Welcome Texas collector. I got so mad asking "Do you have any half-dollar rolls?" They almost looked at me like I was from outer space. "What are those?" they said. Give me a break. I finally got a tip from someone here on the Forum. Go in to your bank and ask for the branch manager, not a teller. Tell him/her that you want to order a box of half dollars. My banker told me, "A box is $400 dollars". I said, give me two! Just depends on your budget or pull out of your savings like I did to only put back in when your done searching for silver.

I'll have to try that, thanks. I think a box would be fun. So when you finish searching the box, you just take all those rolls to another bank?

I have been through about 20 rolls of quarters no silver 10 rolls dimes same. most of my finds have been pennies and nickels. I have found numerous wheats. mostly 40's 50's but some earlier including IHC(only G-4) but enjoyable. Couple of early Jefferson nickels 2 1941's in same roll

Yeah I have a designated coin return bank. Basically I never buy coins from that bank only return. I do this for 2 reasons.
A)You don't end up searching the same roll twice. B)If you buy $40 worth of pennies from a bank. then come back two days later the teller remembers the weird guy who wanted $40 in Pennies and is now slightly ticked because your returning 39.50 worth. After you do this a couple times you may find they become far less helpful.
