I bought 40 rolls of pennies from the bank a few days ago, and I found 2 Indian Head cents, and 3 Canadian cents. I may go back to the bank and buy some more rolls of pennies. I'm thinking of getting halves also.

lincolncollector- very nice finds! Since Indian heads are certainly few and far between.

Very nice, indeed. I got five rolls of nickels today, several 60's, and a 1946. Also got a 1950, not a D though, and a 1945 wheatie at work. Two more questions: Do you prefer boxes or individual rolls, or are they basically the same? I'm thinking about getting a box of nickels, so should I, or should I just keep getting a few rolls at a time? Also, what is IHC? Thanks.

IHC is Indian Head cent. They were the predecessors of Lincoln cents and were minted from somewhere in the mid 1800's until 1909.

Thanks nod2003, I should have known that. Found my first silver War Nickel in circulation today in my register. It's a 1945 S.

I've been searching rolls of penny's for two years now and have noticed a big drop in the number of wheat pennies I am finding. Down from 20 per box to maybe 5. Is anyone else noticing this?

I still get around 1 per 2-3 rolls, excluding the times I get pure 2007-D or all 2008-D rolls.

I just started keeping a couple of each coin with me, too. I started thinking about all the cool stuff I've found in the registers, including a 1909 VDB ef(and I've only been working for about six weeks). Then I thought about what would happen if I couldn't switch it out. Luckilly, a couple of my co-workers know I collect and have pulled old coins out for me. I work at Wal-mart in electronics, so we all have access to the same two registers.

I almost forgot, I went through a few rolls of nickels today. Two of them were fed-wrapped 2008D unc. Is there any reason for me to keep these? I recently found a roll of unc 2005 Buffaloes, and my coin shop owner told me I should keep them. How long will it take for a roll of 2008D nickels to be worth anything?

I take back what I said earlier. I picked up five dollars in pennies and got five wheats. The only difference was that these were customer wrapped. I am beginning to think that customer wrapped are a better deal than bank wrapped, especially when it comes to half dollars. Pennies were a surprise to me!

cvs photo dep. not so bad most days but the managers are cool..in fact, my supervisor brought coins to coin star or a similar type machine and it spit back the silver ones so I gave her some of foreign coins to add to her collection and shes going to give me the silver ones!
