I know I was a wee bit sarcastic earlier but I really do enjoy the reverse proofs so we will be online that day.

Personally I agree a lot with with GR said. Not every coin is for everyone. Personally I am excited as I love the reverse proofs as said before.

But even if they made it a yearly coin I'm not sure it would lower their value. The mintage numbers for that year seem to be a better indicator of future premiums than the fact the coin is available every year. The Anniversary sets may take a bit of a hit but if the coins keep a low mintage number or are only offered during special sets whenever they see fit they should command a premium if you wish to resell

If I had to guess the mintage will be between 75,000 to 100,000

That just ain't gonna happen...I think they learned from their 100k fiasco last year. Even at 1 per the chaos would still happpen

250k would be a nice number ....at around $120-130

Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice shame on THEM ! ....

I forgot to mention that I am not going to be getting this 2012 ASE Set. With shipping costs, it'll be overpriced for the two coins, I'm sure, as per usual.

Don't want them "raw".
Don't want them each graded PR-69 by P.C.G.S.
Don't want them slabbed by ANY TPG for that matter.
Not interested in the slightest this time, in any form or fashion.

In fact, I've even decided to stop buying my two annual Proof ASE's that I usually order.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a beautiful coin, (one of the best in fact !), but "the U.S. Mint" prices are just tooling me out and turning me off.
I find myself just evolving back to "NON-Ultra Modern" coins......
Monies that I will have available for "coin expenditures" will go towards the "oldies" from now on.

EF I agree with you on the high mintage yearly proofs but....this set is going to be very collectable.

But, I guess, if you are completely off moderns then I can understand.

EF, good. One less person for me to worry about getting the coins.

I would not mind a reverse proof each year. The Britannia is a reverse proof each year. I do believe Pandas and Maple Leaves are as well. Nothing that isn't done elsewhere already.

I am not even going to hazard a guess as to mintage and cost. Just have to wait and see. And it will be BS if it is one per household IMO. The 5 limit is reasonable.

Looking forward to this set. The proof silver eagles are basically the only modern coin I buy. I just like them. I'm going to get at least 1 if I can.

500,000 mintage, and one per household.

This was semi-sarcastic on my part.

250,000 mintage and two per household is the most likely scenario.

So as a set collector I will need a 2012 bullion, 2012 p proof, 2012 w burnished, 2012 s proof, and 2012 s reverse proof. Another year of 5 coins to complete my set.

To heck with reverse proofs. I want to see an extra high relief ASE.

Well...that would be a start. Don't forget the 2012 W proof that was released last week and the anticipated 2012 S burnished that has been talked about

The extra high relief at 250,000 mintage, now there is a winner.

Is that a complaint? Other than the outlay of cash, I love the variety. And, if we don't have the 5-oz ATB UNC to buy this year, that's a whole lot more money to put into ASEs and other stuff.
