Mach1, based on your avatar, you're looking forward to the set.
I hope it's two per HH limit, and the lower the mintage, the better.

Any guesses as to the cost? I'd love to see the set go for $99, but I'm guessing it will be closer to $129.99.

...and apparently they will mint to demand, if I read the US Mint site correctly. Quote: For only four weeks, from June 7, 2012, to July 5, 2012, the United States Mint will be offering a special new set to coin enthusiasts. Interesting play, US Mint. Interesting play indeed.

Minting to demand? Wow, that kinda ruins it for me. Something is limited edition because NOT EVERYONE HAS IT. That's the way it's suppose to be!!
I guess it's their penance for the 25th sets? Sorry everyone did not get a set. If everyone had a set, they would not be special now would they?
I'll still buy, but it's like a wet blanket on the fire.

I could careless what the price is. Whatever the limit that is how many I will buy.
After a NICE profit on the 25th anniversary sets you would have to be crazy not to buy IMHO.
Plus, I like many other LOVE the Rev Proofs the only problem is I really like them slabbed.
I will be online June 6th

The mint to demand certainly takes away from the specialness. I guess this could work either way though. If not many know or care it could be a really low mintage but if everyone gets one itll just be a nice looking bullion coin

Lets calculate the possible mintage:
25th anniversary sets were sold out within little bit more than 4 hours, assume it is 5 hours. SF Mint Two-Coin Set will be open to be ordered for 4 weeks, which equal to 4 x 7 x 24=672 hours.
mintage=672/5 x 100,000=13440,000 It is too many!

 , bystander! It only sold out in four hours because it was limited. These won't get huge orders.

mintage=672/5 x 100,000=13440,000 It is too many! Faulty logic...BUT...you might not be that far off with your final total. Yes there was a frenzy during those 5 hours BUT there was also a limit per household requiring many "friends" to get you the coins you wanted. This time if you (dealer) want 500 you can just order 500. The 2010 proof sold over 800,000 in 6 weeks and that was a regular issue. This is an RP so a million is not too far out there for unlimited orders over a month. It will be the first "routine" reverse proof and make the 2011 look VERY, VERY good.

Man, now I'm really torn about this. The main reason I bought 5 of the 25th anniversary sets was because I knew the mintage was limited and that the sets were pretty much guaranteed to appreciate in value as a result. If the mintage for these isn't limited, I'm probably just buy one set for my own enjoyment.
Of course, if everybody else feels that way, the mintage might very well end up being pretty small after all and the value will end up appreciating dramatically....

Since I have never met a coin I have yet to sell or flip, my hubby and I are realistic about purchasing special sets. As much as we may want to flip, the reality is that these are for our enjoyment so it really does not make sense for us to purchase extras since they will just sit there. There is no debate for us - we are hoarders collectors so we just buy what we enjoy taking into consideration whether or not the price works for us.
