I wonder how many people buying " unseen slabs " will agree with the slabs labels, just saying......

I would trust a unseen slab from PCGS long before I would a SGS or ANACS

If you can't trust a PCGS 70 to look decent under no magnification, with no milk spots and tics, on modern bullion minted within the last month and straight to your door...hello! Trust the mint? Fuggetaboutit. But I won't say "a pox on all your houses" until I see the NGC results.

Also wonder if this will put a huge premium on 70 First Strike/Early Release sets?

2012 S Silver American Eagle 2pc Proof Set PR70 FS PCGS Flag Label in Multiholder

2012 San Francisco Mint (S) Silver American Eagle 2 Piece (pc) Proof Set PR70 First Strike (FS) PCGS Flag Label in Multiholder

This set product includes the empty original government packaging (OGP), 1 2012 S Silver American Eagle PR70 DCAM FS & 1 2012 S Silver American Eagle Reverse Proof PR70 FS certified by PCGS with a Flag Label in a Multiholder.

Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the San Francisco Mint, the 2012 American Eagle San Francisco Two-Coin Silver Proof Set is an exquisite collection that captures the essence and beauty of these cherished coins. This set -- one American Eagle Silver Proof Coin and one American Eagle Silver Reverse Proof Coin minted at the United States Mint at San Francisco -- is a testament to the fine, exacting craftsmanship that has been a United States Mint hallmark since 1792.

A special feature of this elegant two-coin set is the coin featuring a "reverse proof" finish. Reversing the mirror-like background finish of a traditional proof coin and applying it to the design elements of the coin achieves a magnificent contrast.

Add this exquisite set to your collection today!

I didnt know PCGS still did the multi holder.

I just got my first 2 silver town sets today and they are beautiful.

But like someone else mentioned the QC on these sets seems to be so poor when the returns are done I no longer see this set having a higher mintage than the 06 and will be very curious to see the pop reports

This speaks volumes to the mess the Mint made of these SFO's. Just received an email from the Mint that they are refunding my purchase price for the set I returned in lieu of replacing the set as they had indicated earlier. Makes one wonder what their next "Celebration" item will be. Silver waffles maybe?

... not so fast buddy, they refund your card and then recharge it for replacements. So if you sent them back and asked for replacements, you can count on them refunding your money-back and then re-charging your card when the replacement set is ready to ship... More than likely, they will re-charge your card before your bank excepts the mint refund, which means you will be out 2-sets worth of money with no coins in hand... gotta love the US Mint ehh? they are a joke

I received my two sets from SilverTowne today and couldn't be happier. I was worried based on what Clint had to say, but both look as they should. With the price increases on these sets as well as all the problems people seem to be having with the raw sets, I'm glad I picked these up when I did.

Wow, Erik, I had no idea. One hour ago, I was smiling all the way home, after visiting my friendly neighborhood LCS, taking my pick from 3 silver proof sets, and handing them cash...all of $2.50 more than I would have paid the mint.

That multiholder is cool and would go nicely next to graded ATB pucks.

Lol I think weve all spent to much money on these sets at this point.

So now the question is should I cancel my october order sets or wait and see what they look like before deciding to return some or not?
