From the NGC site: "Coins held in depositories or at NGC must be submitted for certification no later than one year after their release, shown below as the Certify By Date." NGC has two dates, the cutoff date (approx 30 days after release) and the certify by date (one year after release). With proper arrangements with NGC, they will hold coins sent in by the cutoff date in a repository and allow them to be certified as ER coins anytime up to one year after release. Whether or not this has ever been used, it is available and would cause the ER numbers to change for up to one year after initial release.

Received my Silvertowne set today; I didn't realize that the OGP was coming with it, too bad they don't exactly fit except to display.

I do wish you could close it with them in it, but they do display nicely

Two things...
Good pick up Clairhardesty...I have never seen the numbers move after they become finalized about a month after the cut off date but I guess it's possible. I have no clue why any company would tie up coins for a year "just in case". Talk about non-performing inventory....but I stand corrected.
I also have no clue why the Mint wouldn't have added about a 1/4 inch in height to accept the NGC slabs....the 25th Set fits fine in their box.
The PCGS slabs do fit fine in the San Fran boxes.

After "X" number of weeks since the closing of the sale, and the coins are being shipped out, are there any regrets with your direct mint purchases?

My only regret is that I think I didn't buy enough of them now.

I'll answer that better when my sets are delivered back from NGC (today I hope) Hoping for (3) 70 sets from my 7 1/2 submitted sets (one proof had real issues so it went nowhere)

It looks like prices for raw sets are coming down considerably. The cheapest buy-it-now is now $185 incl. free shipping which equates to a net profit of roughly $10 per set after various fees & postage. This compares to US$200+ a few weeks ago. And unless you get PF70ies back from TPG you're going to lose money as PF69's sell hardly for a premium vs. raw sets. The market will also be flooded with tens of thousands more of these sets late Sep & Oct as quite a few are still backordered (just like mine). So in summary - does anyone think these prices will go up again in future? And for those who still have outstanding orders, what do you recommend? Leave the sets unopened as received by the US Mint, or open and cherry-pick those worth grading in the hope to get PF70ies and sell the rest for a small profit? Will the prices for PF70ies hold? They've exploded, but I feel the bubble may burst depending on the final mintage & proportion of PF70ies thereof. I think these are the questions worth asking... I'm a collector first of all, but I also need to make some money to support my own collection - aren't we all? :)

I collect raw coins so I have no regrets whatsoever. The one set I have opened so far delivered two perfect coins (IMHO). I have two more sets in hand (unopened so far) and four more near the end of the whole cycle (July 03 & July 05 orders). I have no intention of cancelling the pending orders.
To be honest, I think that the TPGs were all getting a little loose handing out perfect scores. Ever since the UHRDE in early 2009, 50% 70s have been common and I really don't think the overall quality has been that good or should be judged to be that good. I think in the case of the UHRDE, they were dazzled with the first coins and since they had nothing to compare it to, they started handing out perfect scores. Once it became apparent that more than half of the coins met that early definition of perfection, it was too late to move the bar and the coin ended up with more 70s than 69s. While I do believe that the quality of the Eagles and some of the special issues has been improving, I don't think that the improvement has been as great as the population reports imply. Perhaps the TPGs are doing a reset with this set and have raised the bar of perfection to a more appropriate level.

I'm a collector first of all, but I also need to make some money to support my own collection - aren't we all? :) As far as the OGP sets I think the demand is tapering off because people are realizing they have no shot at that perfect set which in the past has been a selling point as opposed to paying the premium. That and I think people that have cherry picked their sets are putting a lot of the left overs out there. I could see the set getting back up to 200 but probably wont have a huge premium. August is just a bad sell time anyway with vacations, back to school spending ect. For selling Id just leave it upopened in the box. Some people really like that and if you do that no one can accuse you of cherry picking the sets and selling poor ones. I dont really see the 70 bubble busting in anything other than a whole price swing on coins from a poor economy. The amount of 70s coming back is lower than expected all around. If this holds true it wont be that far off the 11 70 numbers. A glut of 70s on the last set of orders could of course change that but I dont expect to see a huge swing considering probably half the orders if not more have shipped with about a third of the total orders happening first day

Anyone interested in a TRADE, My 2012 Two Coin Set for a 2006 Anv Set. Would love a sealed set if possible PM me if interested we can work something out. If I sent a sealed 06 set off for grading (PCGS NGC) would it receive the Anv Label. And if so would it cost any additional $$. Thanks

Tpgs have not raised the bar for this set. All three seventies rev proofs I got were speckled with tics in the frost, and both pcgs sun devices had milk spots. Future seventies which actually look great in hand will command huge premiums.
