Looks like both Spain and Cyprus are asking for a bailout. I guess Italy will be next.

lol@MacMercury!! Sometimes hour to hour! Seriously though I was reading one commentary where it was said that it was good that so many part time traders were losing their shirts in the commodities; as it "shakes loose all the casual players". Sounds like spin to me. Simple market principles. Less consumer/traders; lower volume; lower prices.

You're right, Angel, and I don't get it either. IMHO, a bail-out is what you do when your plane gets shot down; not what happens when you are too dumb to fly it correctly!

It seems they are only prolonging the agony. The more one tries to control something sometimes the wess control they have. I think the whole euro thing was something that was doomed from the start. All those economies can't function seperately with one currency. All the economies really have to be completely combined not just piece meal to even attempt top work. All those seperate different counties did better with separate currencies.

And the countries that didn't behave responsibly only jeopordized their own future, they didn't hold the other nations hostage and threaten to drag them down in the same mess. I remember listening to the sage college professors rave about what a great idea the euro was a how it is the future of all of us to have one world economy. I should have known right then and there I was wasting my money.

If a bunch of youth with little economic knowledge could predict the EU failing (I'm not joking... A class servey of a class I was in ( during fifth grade) in 2008 predicted it failing or starting to fail by 2012) then it must have been obvious something was going to happen to the EU...

At some point in the far future, humanity will indeed have a one world economy and government. Unfortunately for the current proponents of that, we are a long way from having the basic foundations necessary to support that. We would need a single culture with similar ideas about language, education, economics, justice, law, behavior, and perhaps other things as well before that would be even remotely workable. I believe that it can and will be workable but that humanity simply is not yet ready for it... and probably won't be ready for it for another 3-4 centuries.

I think you're right, but I don't see a single culture as necessary or even desirable. The biggest obstacle to your vision is probably religion.

Next, the Principality of Sealand will probably be asking for a couple of billion.

I own an island in Europe near the United Kingdom, and it has around 69 inhabitants. Periodically, I would use my bank roll finds to supplement their monetary needs, but times got tough and I keep on getting skunked so unfortunately, the people of my island are protesting for a default. (lol!) So shall silver and gold rise and rise :D

Bailout after bailout ... where's the checkered flag? If so much money can be printed and handed out like lollies then what is money really worth? My guess is that QE3 is just months away and money will become so much more devalued that it will be worth next to nothing. Bring on the SILVER regardless of the price!!
