Hi , Found this 1854 American 10 cent in my collection, seems to have several Cuds , making it appear that the pres has a beard! I`ll let you be the judge.

It just appears to be damaged. It's possible there is a die chip, but it wouldn't be a Cud. A Cud is a die break that makes content with the rim because the edge of the die has actually broken away.

Here's an example of a Cud (the raised area below the bust).

It could be a die chip but your scan is too pixellated to see the fine details to determine that it is definitely not damage.
