I don't understand the US Mint system...
Girl Scouts 100 years is 1912-2012, so why is their Girl Scouts Centennial Commemorative Coin coming in 2013?
The Boy Scouts 100 years was 1910-2010 and coin was 'On-Time' issued in 2010, but it had the Girl on it

Penny in fairness to them I believe its up to congress to dictate what and when they can put them out if they want them to be a coin and not a medal. That said thats about the only thing I dont blame the mint for with all their debacles lately

OK new idea!
W mint mark with 5 designs, orginal, and 4 commemoratives, and we could make them in 90% AG, 40% AG and clad compositions! And we could make them at all of the mints, + the proofs! Oh yeah that would be 60 unc coins and 15 proofs for a total of 60 coins!
of course, it would be expensive
seriously, I'm not one for ridiculous amounts of commemoratives, just... the JFK half is different.

I would not be surprised to see a 2014W Kennedy half dollar, similar to the 1996W Roosevelt dime. But, with the advent of S-mintmarked America the Beautiful Quarters, a circulation strike of the 2014S (and maybe W, too) Kennedy half is certainly possible, even if only available by the roll.

After thinking a bit if they arent going to redo it at all like they did the lincon cents in 09, they should do a 4 coin set one from each mint. Or for fun Ill throw out the idea of a rip off of the 5 coin ASE set and have all 4 mint coins with an RP throw in there

I think a similar approach as was taken with LMCs would be a good idea. 4 reverses chronicling JFKs life. I know that was mentioned in another thread. PT109, Cuban Blockade, JFK at the wall, that kind of thing.

The four themes could be: 1) P.T. 109, 2) Bay of Pigs, 3) Cuban Missle Crisis and 4) Marilyn Monroe

Personally, I would like to see the Denver mint go back to the originial design and make some 90 percent silver half dollars with the mint mark on the reverse like they did in 1964 plus do it in as high releif as they did in 1964. The "S" and "W" mint marks sound good too
