Sharp eyes, and those who know the series, will spot the error in this coin immediately. The coin is 100% nickel, circulated to about EF-AU grade. Ok 1942 nickle round with denticles.. 12 sided should be tombac ? so whats the error I'm about blind staring at mine to find it...

Very, very sure. I even tested it with the XRF and examined the rim with the SEM.

SPP - Could you post a couple more pictures at different angles . In the picture you provide it looks like there is a possibility that a round one was given sides . If you look in the picture especially above the "5 cents" the rim looks rounded over .

I think the lack of denticles would rule that out immediately. I have another picture I can put up - but I no longer have the coin...

Easy to remove something that is there ( not saying this one ) . The rim doesn't look right in the pictures . Being different materials , the striking pressure would have been different . The "nickel" shouldn't have struck up so nice .
