Heritage is one of the top 2 auction houses, gives you market values, in this series anything graded under ms 64 are going to sell below RCM purchase price. The super set of six graded poorly and sold for under RCM issue price

@John, oh yes, I get that part... I already use it to get approximate prices, but not to actually buy. I also find their site not that user friendly and a little hard to navigate. :( but since I am in no rush, I just keep looking and I'm sure that one day i'll find the 2 that I am missing. and the reason that I prefer them raw, is that I actually think that coins are more attractive in a little airtight capsule than in a big slab. you can manipulate them better and enjoy it more. a slab kinda takes it away.

Just be go to larger coin shows, eventually you find your coin, with the way these coins were marketed, you can maybe find a ms 64 in a hand select, while the premium set had some ms 63. or worse. coin in hand is very important. good luck

@john, I only started collecting coins when those came out... and even then I was almost 1 year late! I have since looked around, but coin shows seem to be a rather rare thing... especially in the maritimes. But I sure will try and attend one whenever I get the chance. it's just a little hard since I don't really know where to look for information around my area

Like Dominic has already asked, I am also looking for a nice wooden case that I might be able to display my set of 6 hand-selected gold coins. Someone mentioned the Canadian Wildlife Series box that was made by a German manufacturer. Here is a link to the case: http://www.meinemuenzbox.de/startse...t-5815450563Does anyone on here actually own this case? If someone has this case could you please tell me if the inside that holds the coins is a soft foam or a hard felt-covered plastic? Also, could you measure the diameter of the coin spots? I would really appreciate if someone who has the case might be able to do this. I figure it would be pretty easy to strip the "Canadian Wildlife" logo off the top of this case which would make it a nice case for the hand-selected gold coins. Thanks in advance for your help!

@Shannoxt it would be a nice box... assuming that it is actually a logo and not engraved in the wood!

I do not own the box. The useful info that I have from my contact with the seller/owner, that the "holes" fits special capsules, that you need to purchase from the same place.

@ Dominic....im pretty sure at this point I will be getting this 1912 10.00 coin NGC graded soon....so I will be pulling my listing next week sometime unless I get a reasonable offer.....as I'm convinced it will make the coveted MS 64...... but I'm sure you can find an original boxed version somewhere although they are pretty scarce to say the least........good luck with your wife wallet..youll have to convince her that COINS are a girls best friend!

@Dominic....gotcha and I did send an email..looking at the 2013 Haxby guidebook I note that the 1912 10.00 is listed at 3500 in MS 63 which was before the Hoard release..as far as I know the Hoard release actually increased the value of the 1912 10.00 coin and it is now considered the most valuable of the dates...It has the lowest mintage but for various reasons was the most available in MS condition....availability which changed after the Hoard release and the 13 and 14s became much more available in MS..So I'm inclined to believe that the 3500 .00 price will remain the standard BV in MS 63 for this coin for the near future while the other 1913/14 dates slip in value..This seems to be borne out by the evidence of recent sales in auctions across the board....

It will be interesting to see where the 1912 $10 goes, with about 53k remaining vs 65k for 1913/1914. The big difference is that so many high quality 1913/1914 were released. It would be interesting to get some kind of handle on the total 1912 $10 population remaining or an estimate on how many were melted in the 1910's, 20's and 30's...

well, that's one set i'll surely be happy to have once it is all completed! only missing the 1912 $10 now! :D I changed my mind and I thought that it would be nice if I could put the 2 commemorative in the same box as the other 6... anyone got any idea for a good quality wood box that will accept 8 X 42mm capsules? I looked around, but 8 seems to be a really bad numbers for collections... and the ones I found were rather cheap looking... I don't really mind shedding the money for this case since it will be the bulk of my collection... I would even be willing to buy if someone has the skills to make it! ;-)

Just got my first ever NGC shipment back..Ive done PCGS and lots of ICCS..I have to say they are pretty efficient and fairly fast ..The grading on my 1912 10.00 gold came out at MS64 which was what I was really hoping for and they also graded my 1914 5.00 gold at MS 64 so I'm pretty thrilled about that......i also sent them some Indian Head cents which both came back unc details altered color which is a bit of a drag....but thats another area altogether....I will sell both the 1912 gold coins on ebay.....im happy!

looking at the highest graded BOC Gold coins on ebay there is only one set which contains the 1912 10.00 gold in MS64 and the seller wants 54,000 plus for it...My coin is the only other MS 64 1912 10$ gold available.....To get this coin I lined up at the Vancouver RCM Boutique at 6:00 am and was the first in line....it was the only 1912 $10 gold available, I believe, and I guess I just lucked out...... but when I was standing there on a cold fall morning all by myself I have to admit I wondered if I was crazy or what!
