I recently got lucky adding to the generational wealth of my family. 10 oz "chunkys" and I still have a a 1/2 oz Canuck commemorative coming for spot. Sometimes you just get lucky. Last month I finally bought a pre-'33 ST. Gaudens Ive been wanting that already I'm doing well with. A beautiful coin, I had it out for a few hours mooning over it today.

Hit a few pawn shops on Black Friday. The silver wasn't on sale, but several of them had not updated their prices in a while and clerks were versed in coin melt values.
One shop had some 1964 Kennedy half dollars marked at $20 each and I offered $100. Offer accepted! Melt = $126.

A different shop had not updated their prices in a while. Picked up 13 silver quarters @ $4.99 each and 14 @ $7.95 each. Melt value on quarters is $10.51.

Same shop had 10 bags of Mercury dimes @ 4 / $11.95. Melt value is $4.20 each.

I was at my LCS today and bought just two ASE's for $60 each. This place knows me to spend $500 to $1,000 a whack on silver. I didn't today not because I thought the price unfair, cause it wasn't, but more so because I was in a kind of shock over the weekend and will need a week or two to believe what really happened. Even tho I had predicted it would happen.

So I bought a couple of coins just to show support for my LCS. But he had more in ASE's and rounds for $58 tho it seemed like yesterday they were going to $52 and $50 respectfully. Probably because they were going for $52 and $50 last week....respectfully.

And I could have easily wrote a check for $500 or $750 today. I just want the new reality to sink in. No pictures of the two ASE's because we all know what they look like. They look like two coins I'd keep, In nice capsules popping out in black gaskets.

I hope you do not regret it, if the price goes up even more.

Yeah me neither, and it well might. But its Xmas month with bills to be paid. Not a bad month to be sitting on some $USD, trash that it is.

In the last year Ive spent a ton on metal. A "ton" at least for a retired working serf. And its paid off handsomely. More like an investment then a "hedge", much of it doubling in price. Both silver and gold.

But I'd be lying if I said it didn't leave me feeling a little wary. Thru sheer luck alone, or just a basic knowledge of markets and trends, Ive avoided minefields and made the right moves. But its a gamblers life and I fear the cards turning against me or someone forgetting to dope the horse.

Maybe its time to put down the cards and take a break.

You can't catch the exact top or bottom. But, this silver bull has a long way to run so you won't miss out buying after Christmas. Just cost average everything and the higher price you pay won't hurt as much.

Its just strange how fast all this happened. It seems just yesterday I called $50 the new "floor" and half felt like a fool for doing so.

And now ? I'm ready to call $58 the new floor. And I just dont see silver ever getting much cheaper, if at all.
