Quote: Poboxw You had mentioned poor sales on the last 5 oz coin.. I thought it sold out. Am I wrong? Lots of coins sell out. That does not mean anything. They could be bought up by big dealers. It how they do on the secondary market that is important. Remember the Robert Bateman coin that was limited to one per customer. That sold out fast. Now you can get it for list. Same for the 2 loon coin which everyone raved about and it sold out fast. Now it is selling for list price.

To resell coins at issue price is not possible in most cases because there are almost always fees attached to selling you don't expect me to cover the losses just so you can fill your display stand do you. Any CCF member that wishes to buy from me all they have to do is mention it and they will usually get a better deal than if they were on ebay buying.

Elkslayer132 I understand it's hard to sell at issue and I wouldn't expect anyone to buy 30 items and sell to CCF members at issue. I thought it was nice for a member not using their allotted amount to offer it up.
I have never had an issue with what anyone does, how much they buy, or what price they sell for when it comes to flippers. It bothers me when all that fills this forum is on how much is out there to be made. Keep it to yourself people. To me this is a forum on the collecting side, not the flipping side. So keeping the flipping comments to a dull roar would be appreciated.
You tend to be one of the flippers that keeps it to yourself more than others, and it would be nice if others followed in your footsteps. You give your advice on what you feel the market is going to do and I appreciate your insite.
If I was selling my glass ladybugs I could tell you it wouldn't be for anything less than the going rate! But I'm not going to talk all over This forum about my profits.

I know the 5oz beaver sold out but I had yet heard anyone in this or any other forums brought it. I think it was a mistake by the mint for the price. I think the mint saw how well the 5oz Penny was doing and figure people would ante up a bit more for the Beaver. I agree with MoneyPenney, I think most of those 5oz beavers were purchased by the dealers.

Lostwords I did purchase the 5 oz beaver. I thought it looked nicer than the 1 oz. I can't remember where it was discussed in the forum. It might have been in the same topic along with the 5oz penny

Agree with this point. And this is in general was my point. Just gave a wrong example. Still appreciate advices from the people that more business oriented then myself, but other collectors might really don't like it.

The 5 oz Beaver will likely be on the Shopping Channel this weekend for $549.95 plus $9 shipping.. Care to speculate how many will sell at that price? I can't even type out the selling price the 2012 pennies. It's just that sickening. http://www.theshoppingchannel.com/T...nav=R:511169

Same with 5oz stampede, it sold out, but you can still get it at issue price or cheaper.

The new 2013 5oz SML coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint branded custom wooden collector box, lacquered in red, and protected by a black beauty box. Too bad the Mint didn't issue the 2013 SML fractional set in the same type of wooden collector box. They would have looked great together instead of the usual clamshell case that the fractional set came in.

@SPP-Ottawa "The Peregrine Falcon $10 Fine Silver Coin only had a mintage of 3,014" How did you find out the numbers? There are a few in my local PO and 25%off sale now. Should I buy a couple of them? Thx!

Mint's 2011 annual report. But since the coin was launch near the end of 2011, more could be sold in 2012 and those will be reported in 2012 annual report. So the total mintage could be more.

Just a quick note: I am a dealer for certain mints. Most known for the NZ Mint. Profit margins with most mints (including RCM) is a LOT higher than the 10-15% you guys think. The 10-15% is what CP outlets get off, not the RCM dealer price. On top of this, in no way shape or form do dealers have to sell at MSRP. In fact, Mint's are continuously suggesting to sell above the MSRP. They will likely punish a dealer who is selling below MSRP near launch. I did face the issue of getting a warning for selling NZ Mint coins below MSRP at Launch of Sharks, Koi's and others.
