Quote:As for prices the RCM has absolutely no say in what a retailer sells for that is called price fixing and is not allowed they can sell their coins for any price they like any any time. @elkslayer132 I'm not a dealer so I'm not 100% sure but I think dealers must maintain the Mint price until the mint sells out of the coin. I may have miss understood this. Either way price fixing happens everyday. Just ask any electronics retailer. Companies like Sony don't allow discounting and force retailers to maintain a certain price point (suggested retail price) to keep up the brand. If you do you own thing you don't get to buy from Sony any more. Just ask Costco, most electronics you buy there are grey market.

Talk to any RCM dealer and they will tell you they set there own prices from day one that's exactly what I was told by an authorized dealer that is on the RCM website he was the one that mentioned it would be price fixing.

@ Dooby Rak
Sorry, that my words seems to some of the people too personal and offensive. Didn't mention to do this.
My comment was as the the continue of the discussion about two camps over here. Although I do not sell, I support two approaches - to build collection without reselling and with help of the coins resell. So, you see - I do not blame no one, specially MC members with the ability to pre-order new coins. I am MC and I pre-ordered.
Just do not support here, the conversation itself about hoarding. And btw, I would like to get some advices about how to sell (my duplicates) without loss.

Quote: And btw, I would like to get some advices about how to sell (my duplicates) without loss. It's all about timing and photo quality. Certain times of the year coins sell better than other times. Like the stock market there times to buy and times to sell. I tend to accumulate silver coins in the summer and sell now when silver is higher. Also people want to know what they are buying and a good photo will bring in 10% to 20% more than a bad photo. Another tip, never list an item a 1 cent and price you item 15% above cost to avoid a loss due to ebay fees and paypal charges. Another thing if you sell in Canada sell in Canadian dollars. Paypals exchange rate is criminal. Sorry to get of topic.

@Silveroid: I think at the end of the day, most folks here are trying to help each other obtain the coins they want and educating each other on coins. It is a bit tired to be deligated to second tier because some of us flip coins occasionally and being labelled as "you folks ruin our beloved hobby by hoarding and flipping"

How is that price fixing? It makes absolute sense for a brand to control the price of their products and most do. Though I do understand the authorized dealers' position. Their margin is only a measly 10-15% (less on some coins, like the 20 for 20, which they get for $20), they have allotments that change without notice, and have high minimum orders to meet irregardless of if they think a product will sell. Can't really blame them for moving the price up when the 2ndary market has demand.

I am only buying one dino to keep this time. Not interested in the penny roll either, so, contact me if you would like to have either of these items at cost. I am an MC member so no shipping cost.

I can get a 10oz maple leaf at 600 locally, the 5oz is not so attractive to me

I canceled my 1/2oz O Canada Subscriptions and ordered the 5oz. It will go nicely with my fractional set and the 5oz Penny =)

I bought initially the Dino, penny roll, 1 oz subscription.... Was going to stop at that since I'm still waiting for my 3 gold coins.. but bit the bullet last night for the 5 oz and the gold subscription. Will also get the 1 oz silver maple eventually.
Like others have mentioned... Pricing seems out of control for the 1 oz... I'm surprised that the 5 oz is cheaper than the last one issued.
