Found this $2 today and it is the same diameter as a normal $2 coin and weighs 6.64 grams, also on another subject can a normal $1 coin weigh 9.08 grams ?

The dollar is only 0.08g off of normal weight which is darn close. The $2 is well within tolerances for weight as well.

Hi enworb I just spent 2 days weighting $1 coins I have one that cant make up it mind if its a 9.15 g or 9.16 g? iv weighted it so many times and on bran new scales and keep coming up with the same thing is this a good coin

0.01 of a gram is negligable. If you farted on the coin it could change the mass 0.01 grams.

Enworb, does that have a similar effect to acetone?
(Though it might not clear the coin, it would probably clear the room).

Apologies for digressing Candace (boys will be boys).! The $2 coin certainly does look considerably thicker than the other.! Did you weigh those two coins.?

I weighed the $2 with another year the same and normal $2 came up as 5.57 grams and the thick $2 as 6.64 grams.
Also I was looking at the $1 again it is different to the rest it is smaller than the others of the same year and a bit higher in the middle not by much but is noticeable.
Oh and thanks for the fart comment just to let you know I live with a house full of boys with me being the only girl I here it all the time.
