They gave it to me as a nickel lost 2 cents lol but worth it.she kind of looked at it funny but gave it to me anyway

A nickel? A 3 Cent Silver is significantly smaller than a dime. I can't see someone mistaking it for a nickel.

Seriously how do you mistake that for anything other than a tack that lost its spike. Thats a sweet find but the last thing I would have imagined to be roaming around

I can't see someone passing a Three Cent Silver as a nickel, the size difference is just too extreme. I find it unlikely a nickel Three Cent piece would be passed as a nickel either. Once again the size difference is significant. But there would be a chance of a nickel Three Cent being passed as a dime. They are both the same size and I have heard of other cases of Three Cent Nickels being mistaken for dimes.
