After a quick look at the coin in question, I agree that it is a counterfeit coin. A few of the reasons for my conclusion:
Neither the style of the lettering nor the spacing between the letters matches what is seen on a genuine example; this is true for both sides of the "coin."
The mermaid to the left of Neptune does not have the same style of tail.
The water spouts coming from the whale are different in appearance.
The sails on the ship have multiple differences in shape and size.
There are more differences, but those are enough to identify this one as a counterfeit.
