Mine favorite is the Morgan dollar, hands down. It really is the quintessential classic coin. I love its design, composition, and heft- and the fact that these coins were so closely connected to the old west. That's what makes the Morgan so endearing to me. The most beautiful Morgan dollar in existence, as far as I'm concerned (PCGS MS-68): I also have to mention that the draped bust dollar is a very close second. I just wish I could afford one:

I like all the liberty coinage, esp the walkers and Standing quarters. But the buffalo has to be my favorite.

My answer depends on what condition we're talking about. In uncirculated fully struck condition, I love Liberty nickels ans SLQs, but both of those look kind of junky in very low grades. Walkers are high up there. So are Flying Eagle cents. In low grades, I might go with Mercury dimes. The reverse holds up pretty well. I can tell you what I like least. Liberty Seated dimes and Morgan dollars. With the Seated dimes, since only the proofs struck the reverse properly, it usually looks like trash lying around "one dime" in the middle. The coin is also way too small to warrant that kind of obverse design---same goes for the Half Dimes. Morgans are terrible too. I really don't like seeing that giant "ugly" face on the obverse. It's like the face is bigger than the coin. The reverse has the worst depiction of any eagle on any US coin and the different font styles are silly. I have no idea how small Seated coinage was thought of in contemporary times, but I understand why most people hated the Morgan dollar during it's hay-day. Teddy Roosevelt said it was ugliest coin the US had ever produced.

Of course, I will have to go with the humble Half Cent. Draped Bust is my favorite, with Classic Head a close second. I actually like the Draped Bust series from tiny Half Dimes all the way up to the glorious dollars - but I don't have any of the silver coins in my collection.

Quote:"The Capped Bust half dollar. Tons of history behind each one!" My true favorite is the Capped Bust Halves little sister the Capped Bust quarter. Probably because the hunt is so much more difficult. True rare coins that were used a tremendous amount. A problem free F-12 with great eye appeal really makes me drool! This is one of my favorites. I call it VF-35.

Liberty walking Half if you don't have the money, St Gaudens Double Eagle if you do.
Either need to be in MS62 or better.
