Does anyone know what "alloy with silver" means in this Year of the Horse auction?

Nice to see ebay has so many un-paid contributors, helping out spot and reporting fake coins, a job they should be doing. Perhaps these fake coin spotters should consider doing something worthy such as helping out at the community kitchen for the homeless or shaking a bell at the Salvation Army collection can.

Why is taking fakes off the market not a "worthy" thing to do?
As well don't insinuate that people don't do other things that YOU classify as "worthy"
That ignorance isn't necessary.
Sounds like you had your coins yanked off ebay.

Large seizure of counterfeit items and criminal charges but no mention of coins. There were some Toronto Transit Commission tokens though.

This reader comment is priceless. "Does anyone know if Pacific Mall is still open?"

I haven't read such an unpleasant post in a long time. It is ill-natured and nasty. Disgusting.

I do both, and others probably do as well. What's your point? By the way, I see this just as worthy as my volunteer help. If I can save someone some money by not buying a fake, maybe they will be the one that drops that extra dime in the Salvation Army can you so pointedly mentioned......

The Pacific Mall is alive and well after each raids about twice a year, new or the same owners reopen the fake cd movies mainly and of course fake clothing.

@ Rush2112

You post like someone that stands out of collecting world, while people here make and effort to make the hobby be "cleaner", and not only the hobby.

Does the contribution to the community more important than spotting and reporting fake items on ebay? Probably - does.
But we are (i am speaking for myself and including others) do the both.

And what about you?

This is our hobby and our world, but it doesn't mean that people here are disconnected from the other "worlds"...

As I already understood from all these listings - the "coins" in the best case silver-plated.

These specific not fakes....just some set of the metal rounds with pad-printed horses (I may mistake, if real coins exist with the same design).

It's a really sad comment, when someone knocks others for generously volunteering to help in any cause. We all do what we are able. Currently I'm housebound until I have hip surgery. Passing along information when I can is my way I can currently contribute to the community at large. So don't knock others, as your not aware of their person circumstances. Past 17 I have volunteered plenty with inner city homeless. @Rush 2112 your posts in this and the Superman thread are the rudest I've read on this forum!!

Thanks for clarifying, Silveroid! It still appears somewhat cheap ($4-5 each), even for a silver-plated coin...
