Jersey: Cheap high quality fake = happy consumer. Video: Cheap high quality fake = happy consumer Coin: Cheap high quality fake = ?
This is the big difference. A fake coin is a total loss, unless the buyer frauds it forward.
Fake Nike, Ping or Blu-ray out there probably do not threaten the value of your net worth.
If people really want copies of coins, then a distinguishing mark needs to be part of the die. Not a nonsense stamp that really means most aren't.

I have contacted some buyers of fake Nclt and informed them of their fake coin. I have told them what is fake about the coin, given the websites to RCM and CCF and invited them to join us. I've had 3 very thankful replies. However, this approach is time consuming. I agree with the last three posters. There does need to be a distinguishing die mark, and we need to hit sellers in the pocket book. Then there's less incentive to sell these fakes. I like the exchange of ideas that's happening!! Great work. It was collectors here that thought me the difference and why too care!!

The owner of New Balance shoes was on 60 minutes a while ago talking about fakes and how they spend about 10 percent on fighting this issue, if you don't the whole market will be flooded. All major companies in all industries protect their patents, copyrights, trademarks except it seems the RCM. In the new balance case they sued the Chinese manufacturer in Chinese courts to cease their fakes, all cpmpanies take a proactive rolls in this issue, not waiting for your customers to battle the issue, why the RCM not monitoring ebay, they threatened a band for using a penny image in 2012. In a few weeks a flood of superman fakes will appear, contact the RCM I believe its the only way to get the RCM to tackle this issue seriously.

The "Daily Planet" ( or whatever) reporter, from one of the threads, should write topic about fakes and to bring this awareness to more people and to let know RCM that "people know" .... and not the fantasy story about "how he couldn't get Gold Superman coin"

I just finished reporting all their Canada coin actions. I wonder if it will help! It is a lot of fakes to let loose on the marketplace. This is very discouraging, there's got to be a better way. I dislike the fact ebay doesn't inform of any action taken. A person doesn't even know if you're making a difference!!

I see that someone has taken it upon themselves to create a new ebay acct and bid on all of the fake Canadian auctions. I pray their intentions are to stop other bidders and not pay in the end.

Some members here questions the idea that the RCM is doing nothing on this issue? Every day more ebay listings, if the RCM's legal department asks ebay to stop these listings it would stop instantly, yet they wait for us to do it. Some thing is wrong with this scenario, it is backwards. Only one way to stop this, contact RCM and tell them to do their job and protect their customers.

Someone who has a way with words should write a letter and post it on here. Then if everyone copied and pasted it and sent it with a link to every fake RCM listing to the RCM, They might just get tired of all the spam and do something about it.

Wow, this sucks! If they can create a fake bumblebee, then it's just a matter of time before they create a fake butterfly, or even candy cane coin and who knows what else? They seem to be getting better at it too!

They already have the fake butterfly, it's been out for at least 3 months. I hope the person who made an account to bid on Canadian fake coins doesn't get burned by ebay . An interesting approach but not one I would recommend. It's getting crazy the last week with all the fake coins. This last seller has several ads with 10-20 coins to a lot. This would really flood the market. To thing I never really paid attention, until reading about mike's lecture in Toronto about counterfeits. Now I try and report the fakes I can identify. Which is only a tiny number, as I lack experience. I can see where one would get overwhelmed by it. I try and contact and inform the buyers of these coins. Then it's up to them to take action, with ebay.
