Yes it does seem like someone has bid on all of the fakes.....I was thinking about making a fake account to buy them all and not pay. But someone beat me to it haha. I wonder what the repercussions are for doing such a thing....pretty risky if you ask me. Unless its someone that is intending to pay for them....I hope that's not the c ASE

Silvertown huge sale! Mongolian wild life coins (Gulo-gulo, Ural Owl, Hedgehog) for less then $120. Yes, this is should be the price of every 1oz .999 coin: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mongolia-20...em27d9354a74Be careful: Fake/Copy/Re-strike!!I checked all the listings of this seller (silvertown) More than 2/3 - copies. But - seller is honest. He put a real image, didn't do "original" description, just mentioned, that it " Copy or re-strike". Btw, wherever he mentioned "Pattern", means probably "Test token". The problem is, that as buyer, I would afraid to order from him even genuine items...

The coin is not very well done, I see it's not as the original and the description is clear "copy (my opinion)
metal unknown or copper - nickel". And just for the price is obvious is not the original.
The problem is the people that hide the fact that is fake and sell with the same price as the original!

Welcome @Karvergames! You may want to check out the counterfeit form on the other Canadian thread. There's a guy Mike, who gave a talk in Toronto at a coin show recently, he is very active in trying to stop counterfeits. There was write ups in a Toronto newspaper about his work. I believe the link is on the other thread. I've been contacting buyers and letting them know they bought a counterfeit and I report these ebay auctions. It's through this forum I learned how far reaching this problem is. I just wish our mint would take action, it would be more effective. As other sites allow the selling of copy coins.

I'm glad to share this information with you, I even found that the seller on Priceminister has the same Alias (nickname) on ebay France and he his selling them there too. I'm kind a new in collecting proof coin from RCM, it started when I was young but it came back with the Superman coin, but I realized that a coin without a certificate of authenticity, when coming from RCM isn't worth anything... Excellent place too learn about collecting. Thanks everybody

Thanks a lot for all the information, I look it up, it was very interesting. But the seller keeps postings coins on ebay (France) and says that he doesn't want to send them to Canada...no wonder... I made him shut down 4 of 5 sales!, but he keeps putting new one's back, but only for 24Hours now so I have to check daily. I signaled the information on a site in Canada that we can leave information about that kind of crime, but I made some research and he has been active for a month now!selling the fakes for less then 10 dollars for a 20 dollars butterfly, bee or even the 10 dollars duck. Hope the proper authorities shuts him down!

We have also contacted the mint in regards to this issue. This could do serious harm to the hobby if these start showing up frequently at shows in shops and of course online. We have supplied the mint with all the information we have and they have begun to look into it.

I hope a dealer the size of Gatewest can wake up the RCM and get them to move on this issue. The fakes of the silver maple leafs and silver nclt were reaaly good copies at the seminar at the recent coin expo. Like I keep saying only the RCM can protect their copyrights, when these fakes hit the flea markets, all our nclt will become bullion value.

The priceminster site has a lot of Canadian fakes for sale right down to circulation coins example 2010 poppy quarter. I didn't know it's so wide spread! I'm almost thinking of exclusively buying from mint releases. Kudos to Gatewest for moving on this issue!! Please keep us updated as to the mints response! I do hope they start to take action!
