Are you expecting increased interest due to the 50th anniversary of the half?
That would be my expectation. I feel that any 50th anniversary set released by the mint would be a catalyst for some collectors to reconsider their not having built a Kennedy collection.

I wonder if the 50th anniversary of clad the following year might give clad a boost and the half dollar another boost.

That's pretty long in the tooth for new fangled coins.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Add to that the increase in demand the issue of the Ike gold dollar will likely put on regular Ikes, there will be more of them being sucked up. Anything to do with two of the most popular Presidents ever draws attention.

Alright thanks for clearing it up.

I thought it would be the small normal dollar coins...

I completed my ike album but didn't get a chance to take any pictures.

You kind of missed my latest post. The ikes have been completed.

I still didn't get a chance to take pictures and most likely won't be able tomorrow.
So I can take them now but the lighting won't be so great. My camera only likes sunlight and not
the lights inside houses.

If you got the ikes inside the government holders.
How can you tell no one switched the coins on you?
The clad proofs are cheaper then the silver ones.
I also mean without breaking about the holder.

Oops. I did see it, I just copied the wrong block for my quote.

The holders should be somewhat sealed. Not perfectly, but enough to know if it had been opened before. Even if it has, it should not matter if you are buying the coin for an album (buy the coin, not the holder).

I dont see the original post that jbuck pulled the second quote from. Then again it is 3 in the morning, so hey. Regardless, to that question.

As jbuck said, the "slabs" ARE sealed. It would be a pretty good feat for someone to crack one and not show any signs of it. But even if they did, why would they? Its not like there was any other source for these coins other than the brown boxes or blue envelopes. So you would just be moving a coin from one case to another identical case. Condition of the coin would mean nothing in relation to this question because the case does not change.

It is the second part of the post directly above mine, just below *added*.
