PCGS needs grading lessons. Hairlines, rub, and nicks over most of coin. My grade is AU55.

Explain how wear can happen on the lower points of the coin without happening on the highest, first-to-wear points, and I'll convert to your way of thinking.

Peace dollar highpoints are on Libertys cheek and center portion of the bottom of her neck. On the reverse the high points are on the CENTER of the eagles wing. This coin obviously shows wear in these areas also many hairlines in both field and portrait and eagle also many small abraisons/nicks especially on eagle. So there you go AU55 is all I can give the coin.

Dave - great info and very insightful commentary. I think all your points are valid. The only thing I can't get past are what appear to be a lot of hairlines on the obverse. Are these not hairlines? You've convinced me that this could be a low MS coin, but I'm still shocked it didn't get details.

I appreciate all the input. I have to admit I was surprised when I looked at the photos for the first time. The coin looks so much better in hand. Again, I really appreciate and respect all the input. I tend to think my photos don't do lustrous silver coins justice.
