For me it's all vague speculation, and totally unsubstantiated rumour. A guy told a guy, who told a guy, who told a gal, who told another guy... I suggest we all wait and see... P.S. Look up! It's a bird! It's a plane! Nope! It's another Superman coin series!

Quote:What I can assume, that RCM minted a few more (one or two coins), commissioned by CP. And CP in its turn, going to combine some of the old (2013 - that they held) and new ones in their new set - coins+stamps, packaged similar to the Titanic set. So that's way it will be smart move for CP, and nice collectible item (depends on the coins and the package) for the collectors It makes sense, they are probably just going to repackage the old coins. Perhaps as a set.

It's cool how we already have 3 pages of a non confirmed release ... seems that some people is worried about spending another couple of thousand dollars again

At last here's some evidence: The new GOLD Superman coin (125% pure AU) will be based on this extremely rare, very early (125 years old) comic cover of our hero.

As much as I love Superman, i'd love to see Batman on a coin, I don't think it has been done before on legal tender.

It is the 75th anniversary of Batman would be nice to get a coin from a Mint. Doubt it would be RCM.

I vote for a Harper commemorative $13 coin with gilded hair playing the piano! With respect to the next release of the Superman coins, should the rumor prove true, I think the mint has lost it's mind.

I can almost guarentee that a second gold coin will hit general availability. It should be self-evident.

Unfortunatelly, even if it really be minted with 125% Au like NuMoosematist said (how many karat it is?), it could be taxable, if distributed as a set unit (coin + stamp) Looks like these nice coins will be focus of new June rele ASE

Unfortunately nobody will be able to redeem or spend this $1,000 for $1,000 Super coin anywhere, except at the Mint's boutiques. They will be engraved on the side with the following: Gift certificate, only redeemable for RCM boutique merchandise. How do I know? Trust me. I have the same sources as the OP and Anjohl. Also, Silveroid, I'm afraid I was exaggerating about the gold content being 125%, since it can only be a maximum of 100%.
