Quote:The Dr Who silver coin, yes thats ones doing pretty good despite falling PM prices I really like my silver DrWho with its cool Tardis /police box. I don't plan on selling it either. I didnt buy any of the second round of superman coins, just seemed like too many superman coins , I still have my 2013 gold superman coin and the other 2013 silver ones , sad that the silvers ones didnt stay higher in value but 10k mintage is just too high plus they made too many different silver coins , it was a bit over kill.

Because of circumstances I still haven't seen the 2014 silver superman coins first hand except for the gold coin which I did examine and found flawless. I tend to agree with northern coins that this recent 2014 Superman release is a bit overkill but it does fit the RCM pattern of series releases so we shouldn't be surprised if they come up with another release of Superman man in 2015......these Superman releases seem to sellout very fast so I would suggest to folks like northern coins..why not invest in them ? They are bound to retain value if not increase over the medium to long term and I often hear in these forums the idea that a 10 k mintage is high when the exact opposite is true....its miniscule..... and 5 or 10 years from now the present price will seem like a steal but I don't get paid for sticking my neck out so take it easy on me!

Cassidy, which gold coin do you prefer and why? I'm very impressed with the 2014 coin - the color really pop on the gold background. I think the black red S were a perfect fit for the size of coin. I like this shield vs last years. The black and red are stunning on the gold background. It's too bad the coins price is out of my league at both release and now.

@pocketchange.....as far as preferences go on the gold Superman I think the 2013 is more artistic than the 2014 gold. That being said I think the 2014 gold is awesome and RCM gets full marks for creating something different...which is not easy...my favorite coin of the 2014 Superman series has to be the green car action 1 silver which I believe is the best investment next to the gold coin

The 2013 is a sticker, so by default the 2014 wins.

My couple of month cancelled order from RCM surprisingly arrive today: 2014 Canada Superman 1/2oz First Comic Cover. I cancelled my order from mint, since bought the coin at PO...and now looks like they "pushed" the coin to me. Would it other coin - I will return it. And this one....hmmm Does someone wants it for issue local pick-up in my location (Toronto) or pay for shipping?

Thanks for the update omxfl, If the 3 or 4 outliers are ignored it looks like last couple months are holding steady at $950 or so.
Probably going to continue like this until supply runs out... after that who knows.

Not necessarily. If you have a store you pay 6% in FVF, add 2.9% for PayPal and you'll be at roughly 9% of the total in fees. If you bought it directly from the RCM you would have paid under US$700 which at a sell price of US$900 (assuming the buyer has to pay for shipping) would yield a profit of approx. US$120.

You forgot about the taxes you payed when you bought it from the mint as its not .995 gold or better.

Those, like me, who live in the US didn't have to pay any tax when we bought the coin from the RCM. I know, the world is unfair...
