Small coin, the envelope says it is a Theodosius.

To me it looks like it has R2D2 on it.

Oh my ...... Not only is a quadrans of Claudius it is an XF to boot ! These little beasties are not generally so crisp !
Someone has definitely mixed up the envelopes. XF first century Roman coinage is veeeery nice to have.
You can always find a decent 'Theo' anytime you want on ebay. But a Claudius of this quality is a rare find.
And one you might expect to pay significant money for. This more than makes up for the Philip which was ........ Hasty

The R2D2 thing you are seeing is a Roman 'modius' which was a container used to measure out units of grain.

Very nice find. I see a bit of bronze disease on the surface that needs to be treated before it does more damage.

The Bronze disease would worry me a bit. Verdi-Chem seals the coin as well as remove the verdigris doesn't it? Without removing all of the BD it would just seal the remaining BD in and allow it to continue to progress slowly.

great details on that one...nice indeed. the bd worries me as well, hopefully the verdi-care takes care of it. be sure to take a peek at that one every couple weeks for so an sure it isn't on the move again.

which reminds me...i have one I need to take a look at myself.
