I received my 4 sets. Unfortunately, the cardboard box they were shipped in looked like it was caught in a flood and then partially run over by a semi-truck. The USPS was very hard on it.
The corners of the blue boxes that contain the coins are pinched. Is it worth my effort to return the sets due to damaged blue boxes, or will future buyers care about only the coins inside the boxes?
By the way, the coins look GREAT!

Just got mine. They are GORGEOUS. I LOVE them. Except one thing. The slight ding on the Unc coin between the 2 and 0. *sigh* The ONLY issue I have with it. So back it goes. I cant remember who said this, but you most certainly can to return these for an exchange. The normal process for the mint is to get the return item, credit back to your account then charge it again when the replacement ships. This has always been the process. You simply fill out the form and check off exchange. As for the complaint about not being able to see the back of the coin. I have gone through every piece of OGP I have and I have not found a single one where you did not have to flip the holder or remove the capsule to see the reverse. The only thing that is close to showing the reverse as displayed is the Brown Box Ike with the hole in the box to see the reverse. Yes, the capsules are in there tight. How many complaints in the past have I seen here that the capsules came out during shipping and were rattling around the box? Plenty. How many complained that the coins in the LE set shifted around and all that? Almost everyone. So the mint gets good air tights that fit the coins well, and put them in packaging where they STAY PUT as they should. So now we hear its toooo haaaaaaard to geeeet theeeemmmmm oooouuuuttttt. Waaahhhhhh. Its like there is nothing the mint can ever do to keep some people happy. So, I will send mine back and be ecstatic when I get the next set back that I will have one of the best sets the mint has put out.

@smokeriderdon you can check the box for exchange on the paper just as I did and you to will see that they will ONLY credit your money back. They may have done exchanges in the past but for this set you will have to buy another set after you return this one. They won't do an exchange, I've tried. If you don't believe me........call the mint

I wonder what the mint does with all the returns?

@smokeriderdon my thoughts exactly. I'm pleased they were very secure and since I'm just keeping my personal set in a drawer from here on out I only pushed them back in 90%, I haven't had any problem viewing them again or showing them to friends just pushing them back in 90% each time. I think this may be the most pertinent set to be produced by the mint in the last fifty years :)

OK, I stand corrected. I just called the mint. They have changed their return policy on ALL items. It is indeed now that they will not do automatic exchanges for ANYTHING. They will be crediting the money back and you have to make the purchase all over again. I made my dissatisfaction with this and the fact they did NOT make this clear and that they still have exchange on the return slips.

I spent a lot of time with my set today. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

My original Mint Box was OPEN at 1 end! I wasn't expecting anything in it, after seeing this, but, alas, all 5 boxes inside, 1 with a minor bend on corner. Like Jbuck, I find the coins to be of exceptional quality, with just the smallest hints of struck through threads on proofs, only visible with loupe, and, 1 P Mint with 1 ding, but, because proofs are such early die states, with NO die wear, I'll keep it. Have to admit, I am VERY tempted to fill the entire KHD set now 1964-present, from a seller who only puts in the best of the best BU & Proof issues(it's not worth the gamble to do this myself, 1 at a time, on ebay). Does anybody know if an updated Dansco Album will have slots, CORRECT slts, for all the 2014 issues? If not, do the ole "Blank Page" scenario, which, IMHO, is not preferred, but, it works for me. It's THE first sets of PROOF coins, in ANY denomination, in many years, that have such perfect mirrored fields. Maybe I just got lucky on shipping day, and, they sent boxes from the REAR of the pallets(first made, last to ship, the exact opposite of the "First Strike" designation, which is, as we all know, sheer nonsense). Dreams of the day our Mint actually makes super-special sets, boxed 1 at a time, with a serial#, and, a COA that actually means something, like most mints around the world do now. I realize for a 300,000 production, this won't happen.

I suppose DANSCO album has no plans to make appropriate page for these, or, do they? They tend to bomb when it comes to "out of the box" coinage...aka: 25c S mint coins.

The only thing that is close to showing the reverse as displayed is the Brown Box Ike with the hole in the box to see the reverse. Correct but that is not what I was referring to. I said (paraphrasing) that it made no sense that a SET (key word) that was sold in a Mint presentation case/package would not have both sides of the coin easily available for inspection. Most recent examples are the 2 coin 2013 West Point ASE set, the 2 coin 2012 San Fran set, the 5 coin 2011 25th Annie Set, and even way back in 2006 the 3 coin 20th Annie set had cool little ribbons under the coins which made it very easy to see the reverses. ...and all Mint sets, proof sets, Annual dollar sets, etc., etc., etc. all the way to the 2014 Kennedy clad set. It's not rocket science to design packaging with visible coins. No screwdriver needed.....
