I had a dealer call me, asking my opinion on the 2016 gold centennial coins. I told him we needed to look no further than the 2014 gold Kennedy - a lot of excitement at release, premiums for top grade examples, at or below issue price for raw or MS-69 examples eventually.
Personally, I'll wait a couple of years and then consider buying one.

Ive been of of the game for a while now, its been maybe a year since I bought any coins. Here I logged on and got all excited at the thought of a gold Mercury dime to then find out its gonna be undersized. |

I'm happy that this offering is such a suck fest as my wallet has been crunched lately. This crap sandwich is a blessing in disguise. My credit cards should send a big fat thank you to the us mint  |

@ Cascade  I know of two dealers sent out emails yesterday offering $250 and the other $500 if you would purchase 10 and mail to them when they arrived. I am still going to get a single one of them. My son really likes gold and has a few 10th ounce ASE's. I will give it to him someday to add with his 4 or 5 other gold coins. |

so many negatives to this coin definately wont be the typical excitement we usually get with a special release, but as always I will be in for 1

Have fun with your Walking Dead coins guys... Wait, a walking dead zombie gold merc would stand a better chance  Curious though how many they minted for this initial run. I'm guessing 50k until it goes to backorder. |
