Perhaps the design had a lot to do with that...

This is really a lot.

Perth has done well with Willy and Donald, but the subsequent Disney coins has been designed in the poor manner of "stick some picture" to the coin. There are full of such coins struck with Niue and Palau denominations: endless cartoons (Looney Toons, Scooby Doo etc), Transformers, Star Wars.....all these designs looks really cheap (imo).

Do not know what will be in this Loony Toons series, but usually RCM has more traditional and appealing design, plus it will bear Canadian dollars denomination.
Still think, that they'll won't be good for re-selling.

Added:
RCM good in enamel enchantments, logo / icons / signs with enamel will fit great.

No doubt Silveroid...RCM enamel enhancements have been consistently quite impressive ... No matter the theme...
Superman Hockey Canada Great Lakes and recent gold moon mask - all great examples...
With 2oz coins coming for the Tunes - enamel on a 2oz er would be very appealing visually - if to be?

They are here!!
Only Gold and 3 of 2-ozers for now

Well, not really "question signs" as per Superman Pre-release, but didn't go far from it.

Official images - on April 21-st (probably public release)

From the part of picture I can see:

Gold - Looney Tunes logo (seems colorized) with someone (?) - might be appealing for the people

Silver - all looks "Disney Niue / Palau" colorized style

This is shaping up to be a huge splash...like initial superman release...teasers with plenty of time for greater buzz...
Looney tunes will result in lunatic frenzy now...

If anyone wants to see the partial images go to RFD. The gold coin has a black hand which leads me to think it is Daffy Duck on the coin.

One of the 2oz silver is Bugs Bunny because you see the rabbit ears.

Another 2 oz coin is Sylvester the Cat because you can see the top of his head.

The other 2 oz coin I have no idea.

Btw, these "partial images" posted on the other forum, thank you, RFD guys.

The Gold will be sold out fast - many people will jump on it.
It priced CAD 799.95 .... probably gold went up since Superman release, or the Looney Tunes licence more expensive, than for S-man ?

I believe, very very soon they will be also on ebay.

Will try to guess: they are all on the red background.

I got an email from RCM. Still can't see the designs. I'm not interested at all.

So far, it looks like 3 2oz silver coins and a gold. Didn't see anything about a box or watch.

@Northerncoins:

There is no 2oz's set.
At least nothing like this mentioned.

But there is a 3 coin (2oz each) subscription, means, instead of ordering them one-by-one all all together, you pay for the first and automatically for the rest, when they shipped.
Strange, but the months for this sub mentioned to be:
July
August
September
No special package for the subscription mentioned (well, everything still could be).
So you do not need to be worry, buying - it still 5.000 mintage.

Oh I figured since there was a sub that it would be a set with a box ,eh not as appealing to me now if this is the case. Probably a good thing, save me money.

Looks like they're holding off releaseing the 1oz'ers until later maybe.
