Quote: The last time at this bank had a huge score 79 40% and 16 90%. I made it back there today not as good but still not too bad. Teller had one roll of halves solid all 40%. Outstanding!

Reasonably good results searching the three boxes of bank-rolled half dollars I acquired yesterday. In one box I found three uncirculated 1964 Kennedy half dollars and one coin that contains 40% silver -- and another 1964 half dollar in the second box. The third box also included coins from a collection "dump" -- it contained ~25 NIFCs (but no silver). Last week I found two 1964 half dollars and three 40% silver coins in the boxes I picked up at the same bank. The unusual distribution of these silver coins leads me to believe that I've tapped into a 1964 collection "dump" -- and that the less-valuable silver coins are "background noise". I hope to find more 90% silver half dollars in the boxes that I acquire next week!

Nothing too spectacular a couple here and there. Picked up 4 pieces on Friday and got 2 more today.

Cabowabo, just curious, how many rolls or boxes do you search to result in your finds?

The bank where the manager has agreed to order three boxes for me every week continues to provide a stream of 90% silver half dollars. I saw a silver ender and a proof ender in one box I acquired yesterday. I found two Franklin half dollars, a 1964 Kennedy half dollar, and six coins that contain 40% silver in that box. A second box with a 40% silver ender yielded only one more silver coin (a disappointment). I also found three proof coins in the first box. The tellers there enjoyed a pizza lunch today. I've found 90% silver half dollars in one of each of the three boxes that I've acquired during the past three weeks (a total of nine coins). Each of these good boxes has been sealed with plastic tape (as well as with glue). I wonder if these coins are being rolled at a different location than the rolls in other boxes that haven't contained any 90% silver coins. In that case -- by all means send me more boxes wrapped in plastic!

When I stopped at a bank where I occasionally have found silver coins, the bank teller apologetically told me that she had only one half dollar. Then she held it up for me to see. I immediately knew that it was a 1964 Kennedy half dollar. I explained its value after I purchased it. The teller accepted my business card, and said she would call me the next time someone hands over half dollars. I'll keep my fingers crossed. A few more coins and she'll earn a gift card.
