The modest steady of stream of 1964 Kennedy half dollars continues in the BWRs that I've been purchasing at the same regional bank. Two of the three boxes I acquired this week contained nothing valuable. But I found three uncirculated 90% silver coins and three 40% silver coins in the third box. It also contained an NIFC collection "dump" -- 40-50 samples of this kind of coin. I've found ten 1964 Kennedy half dollars and two Franklin half dollars in the rolls I've acquired from this bank during the past four weeks. I wish I found more silver coins -- and fewer NIFCs -- from this collection dump. I suppose that I shouldn't complain too much.

I just finished a box from a new source, my credit union. I found a 90 %er in the heaviest roll. A 1939 Philadelphia Liberty walker. My first Walker from a box. This never gets old. It is quite dirty, maybe I'll dip it. It looks to in very fine category.

For the fifth week in a row, I've found 90% silver half dollars (plus several 40% silver coins) in the boxes of bank-wrapped coins that a local bank manager keeps ordering for me. I found a 40% silver ender in the first box -- which eventually yielded a 1964 Kennedy half dollar, and three 40% silver Kennedy coins. This box also contained a large number of NIFCs (a hallmark of the collection "dump" that I've been lucky enough to sample recently). When I opened the second box, I saw the reverse side of a proof ender. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this coin was a 40% silver 1969-S proof! That roll also contained two more cupro-nickel proofs. Later I found an uncirculated Franklin half dollar and another 40% silver coin in the second box. I inadvertently saved the best box for last. It contained four 90% silver half dollars: two Walking Liberty coins (an AU 1945-P coin that is in better condition than the one in my collection), another Franklin half dollar, and an uncirculated 1982 George Washington commemorative coin (which I didn't know had been minted). Another interesting coin was an altered 1986 commemorative half dollar -- the positive relief features on both sides were gold plated.
