Please keep up this thread! I am loving the modern coin albums/folders. Any Mercury dimes in there?

What is really impressive here (not to rain on your parade) is that you have 9 pages of mileage over a rather pedestrian lot of ,"kept everything and traded and bartered" collection. The type of material shown here is pretty main stream stuff and is far more "quantity" than "quality". To educate a few on this forum this is exactly the kind of material that walks into coin shops on a daily basis. A great percentage of what you have shown us is silver or silver plus coins that would have been taken out of circulation back in the day and put into albums. It is obvious that your family member had great fun enjoying the hobby , but like many of his time period did NOT spend a great deal of money on a coin collection. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that as it shows enjoyment for numismatics , not the expectation of monetary gain. That said ( I am just being a Monday COB ) enjoy going through it all it does look like you have learned about some of this and had most importantly FUN. That is what the hobby is supposed to be about.

Ya I know that pacificoin and no worries, you're not wrong but you may be a touch (hopefully) shortsighted as I am only working off of the few tubs I've brought back to work with. For my sanity I have begrudgingly decided to not even superficiality dive into the entirety of it at once but rather one trip of a few tubs at a time. And I've only taken 1 trip; last week! Who knows what will be in boxes 10, 12, 20, etc? I could just be into his post-stroke suff right now? Stay tuned...

Quote: Ok here's some mercs... Even though it is sparsely populated, it is very nice. I like the old Library of Coins albums. This is another one you could keep and complete, if that interests you.

Aha! A Mercury dime Library of Coins album.. I have one myself, but one of the plastic sliders is almost like superglued in place, and all the sliders on the last page are missing. I guess that's what you get for paying like $2.00 at a half price bookstore.
