Sorry to revive the dead thread, but just an update. I did sell the coin on ebay for $700 Shipped. The buyer is actually a professional dealer, he will get it certofied easily and likely has a client who collects this sort of stuff. I had the coin up for $750 OBO, hoping to settle for $600 and then making $500 after shipping and fees.

The ebay system automatically accepted an offer at $700, so I ended up doing quite well as I paid $250 CAD delivered for it 2 years back.

I wonder if you asked the buyer to email you the grading results when it has been graded by a TPG he/she would let you know?

I did not ask the buyer, but that's a good idea. I'm not totally sure if it will go off to a TPG first or if it will be sold raw, but I'm guessing it will get TPG'd, since why not? I will ask the buyer to see if he will let me know and I'll be sure to post here if I do find out.

Update#2:

Previously I was just aware that the buyer was a dealer based on their ebay account, but yesterday night I received payment and turns out my mystery buyer is none other than Gerard Fortin, an expert of Seated coinage. In fact, the varieties Seated dimes, the ones on this coin being F-128 (R3), are classified with Fortin numbers in the same we we have VAM's for morgan/peace dollars and Overton numbers for CBH's.

It's funny because a member on CCF actually suggested that I should approach gerry and offer him the coin for consignment or get an outright offer from him for it. What are the chances he bought my coin off ebay? Anyways I will ask him to keep me update on what it grades.

I would say Mr. Fortin knows what he is doing when it comes to these little beauties. Your coin was an AWESOME example of an "advanced collectors piece" (and that is a phrase Fortin uses on his site plenty). That toning is
