OldSkoolMadSkilz:
Well....for $150 for a single coin I would say it is not worth the chance....reverse rim has multiple spot-like issues (above the torch, near the A in America, maybe a ding above the E in America and a rim ding mid Liberty body and a spot between the D and A in America (not rim)
That said it WOULD be part of a multi-coin submission because it very well could still be a 70...
So...$150 for one (can't figure that math but I will go with your numbers) or a wee bit more for all 5 at NGC (Early release)
That way you get them all graded and MAYBE a 70 out of the mix....no loss on the non-70's but no gain right now anyway

Thanks. With first strike and return shipping, it's $65, but I'm not a collectors club member, so that's another $69. Then I need to pay to ship it to them. Only have two sets and the other one is absolutely not 70. So you're saying that the chances for a 70 are pretty slim?

with fox on the grading, as for 70 or not the only way to know is to send him in I kept 1 set in ogp with the 2 worst coins. The other 8 coins (4 sets) I sent in because all are solid 69s imo with 1-3 coins having an ngc chance at 70 so instead of just sending those, and because I needed at least 5 to sub, I sent all 8 because the ones that are possible 70's can get that bump with the help of comparison to the solid 69s that won't make 70. But who knows really, it's like buying a $200 scratcher. That guy on another forum who got 3 70 rp's out of 5 was a lucky dog for sure. The 2 I kept are a 68/69 medal & a 67/68 truman. I figured it would have just been throwing good money after bad with those 2

So you're saying that the chances for a 70 are pretty slim? 1) I didn't know you were taking PCGS...that is a bit more expensive and chances are decreased for reason that will remain not discussed at this point 2) you can join NGC premium for $149 and get that amount in credit...so your one PCGS $150 coin becomes 5 NGC graded coins (yes shipping is extra) 3) I was working with the issues I saw on the coin that you say are on the capsule...I did not say it had zero chance of a 70...I said it very well could be a 70 Either way I would make up your mind by this weekend and send them (it) in by Monday

I've decided to go with NGC. The PCGS sets are getting a premium now, but I think that will eventually level out.

BTW, as far as submission dates go, I spoke to each. PCGS says it's fine as long as it's shipped before the 30th, but NGC says it must be in their building by the 30th.

It's official...I will not be receiving my 2 sets I ordered. Fed-Ex lost them in transit. Fed-Ex didn't even powder coat it. They said, "Yup we lost your package, sorry about your luck, get a refund".
The coolest buzz in a decade and I get the shaft. That's the story of my life.

sorry to hear that. I dont like the Fed ex Smartpost at all. Where I live they through Cincinnati to their sorting facility in Columbus and then send it back 100 miles to Cincinnati.

Don't lose hope.
Maybe they are stuck in the bottom of a sorting bin or fell onto the floor under a piece of equipment at the sorting center. If so, they'll eventually get found and moving again.
I've seen it happen.

Correct....and that's why I mentioned having them in the mail by Monday (for NGC). Depending on where you live Priority Mail takes 2 or 3 days and I always add a day to be safe. I would NOT use Registered to ship but it will come back to you via Registered mail

The NGC RP70 went for $1402 last night...two more ending in a day and a half.
I REALLY do not see this staying above $1000 for very long...I guess it all depends on the POP numbers which NGC seems to have a reluctance to publish
